Yes yinz guys, protect our kids and our future. First up, here's the URL for an article about "Hot Spots" where nervous, scared and misinformed parents are choosing not to allow their kids to be vaccinated.

Pittsburgh, sadly is one of the cities, and PA is one of the states that are Hot Spots for NME's or Non Medical Exemptions. Not every state permits them, many but not all schools require kids to have their vaccinations before being registered.
As a parent, with a medical and journalistic background, I have been fighting this Anti-vaccinations / vaccinations-cause-autism scare, it seems, forever.
I have searched, for years, and found NO linkage between properly administered vaccines and autism, none, zero, zip. All the evidence does show that the danger to the planet of unimmunized children is huge. I know more than a few of yinz guys go back to a childhood, before Dr. Jonas Salk, God love him, and his vaccine. Maybe some of you, like me, had a classmate who'd been crippled by polio or scarred by Chicken or Small Pox. Without vaccines those numbers would be overwhelming. and the doors of more than a few of our homes would have signs reading QUARANTINED. Without the protection of vaccines Polio, Smallpox, Rubella, Scarlet Fever, Influenza and measles would come roaring back, leaving hundreds of crippled, blind, deaf or dead children. Most likely none of you go back to a time when there were no vaccines. So let me tell you about something worse than the so-call Black Plague! The influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than the Great War, known today as World War I (WWI), somewhere between 20 and 40 million people. It has been cited as the most devastating epidemic in recorded world history. Those who campaign against vaccinations are sowing the seeds of a future of such horrors.
I'm calling on our Steelers, the Rooneys and every one in Steeler Nation (and that's literally the planet!) to speak out, speak up and help put down this terrible lie that ties vaccines to autism. There is no such link, but there are guaranteed terrible consequences we will all suffer by neglecting childhood vaccinations.
Go Steelers! Get vaccinated!
