I've always been an advocate of bring E in and have a looksy while kicking the tires, you never know what might be there. Soetimes a change of scenery is what's needed.
NO, don't just hire him without a test drive. And there aren't many games left so a pretty good situation in the test drive with big upside if he pans out.
