Garrett had three tackles no sacks Nd no turnovers vs. Raiders. Hopefully TJ has a multi sack game against the Stains in two weeks and puts his jump kick on this race. I think it's already done but an exclamation point would be my Super Bowl.

NOPE, don't count those chickens before they are hatched. WATT has been "jacked" out of DPOY before and could happen again. I

I hear you an building his cushion and hope like hell he has multiple sackes in all remaining gaes. I'd love to see him get the NFL season sack record but I also realize that is asking a lot considering the lost games he has had.

He is close. I think if he manages to have a solid game against KC that could be the cake topper.
 
Phil Simms kid was on CBS radio show talking today saying that TJ isn’t as disruptive as Garrett or Parsons. There is just no way these clowns watch any of TJ’s games. Parsons has had one good season, can he have 2 or 3 before we put him in the HOF??
 
Watt has missed 2 games and played at least 2 additional games where he was clearly not able to run because of injuries and still has put up those numbers. He's also made some huge plays in the fourth quarter with turnovers and forcing the incomplete pass against Baltimore. I feel like Watt has already been disqualified because of the Steelers record and team defensive play.
 
Missed 2 games AND 2 half's actually.

How about the fact that he is doing all this with this ****** D!?! Does it all; sacks, run d, forced fumbles, PD, INT, draws a few hold calls (cough cough) and strangely drops into coverage

I think the argument is Donald vs Garrett for runner up participation trophy

Garrett is now dealing with groin injury......... he talks tough and says someone will have to kill him or break his leg to get him off the field... groin, hamstrings, calve and high ankle sprains can easily be worsened trying to make quick moves ...... tweak them and they linger on

Hopefully TJ stays healthy for the remaining games and balls out ........leaving no doubt
 
TJ needs six more sacks this year. he can lock it up
 
It will go to Donald. Not cause he deserves it more than watt… there are too many politics involved

There are 50 voters… from the AP… it changes year to year but it almost certainly will break down to Watt, Parsons, and Donald.

They only get one vote so politics really skewers it a lot… there is a reason few Steelers win national awards voted this way

This year unless he surges to win the sack title Garret will be an also ran who will pick up few votes outside the division… he has a couple national backers who will rationalize voting for him but he isn’t getting a plurality

So the homers will all likely vote for their teams candidate. This includes the national lackeys like aikman that will vote dallas…

The issue is there are a lot of writers who vote for the best story, not the best player… they will mostly flock to parsons, but some will go Donald to make him the most decorated player ever… Donald also will get a lot of default votes… alot of the anti Steelers and anti cowboy sentiment will probably drive enough voters to Donald that ge wins it over Parsons


Hopefully TJ sets tge sack record and doesn’t give them any wiggle room to ignore him
 
The way the pundits talk, Watt isn't even in the top 3 for DPOY. He would have to break the all-time sack record to even be in the conversation. It's ridiculous but it's just a popularity contest.

If Watt were to even get to 20 sacks, he should be the runaway winner. Just look at how the Steelers do when he plays and when he doesn't this year. That shows how he is the MVP of the team and should be of the league. Everyone talking about the DE's that only rush the passer and try to compare to Watt who is an OLB and also drops into coverage at times. If Watt just rushed the passer like a Garrett or some of the others, he would have blown by 20 sacks already.
 
Bosa is getting a ton of talk because he has 15 sacks in the full 14 games and is coming back from an injury.
 
Who really cares about subjective awards ? Watt is the best defensive player in the league on performance everything else is noise.
