He at one time was a very good ST coach..those days have long passed it is time to move on..allow a long KO return to end 1st half that almost cost us pts..then allow an even longer one to open the 2nd half...WTF

that was a pitiful display of kickoff coverage last night.

You can just feel that big return coming...and it almost costs us a victory.

Without that return to start the 2nd half, I believe we spank that team ...

Well, he was highly regarded in Washington as the Redskins' ST coach, according to some articles out there. Maybe 10 years is enough for both sides to move forward.

Maybe yesterday's ST miscues had more to do with the new personnel (White over Boykin, and whoever replaced Snell) and their lack of practice time. But certainly over the last few seasons, we've all had more negative things to say about Bubbles than positive ones.

What's Bobby April doing these days?

How about the head coach Tomlin, that could not see the return man for the Colts did the same run Stright up the middle each time he brought the ball out. What he was at the 40 twice and past thirty another time then the big return.

Welcome to the party, we have popsicle's, we have popcorn and lastly, we have Bubbles.

I've been calling for his head for quite some time now. STs coaches can easily be replaced during the season and OH yes, at the completion of a season as well. It starts at the top and trickles down, it's all about the detail to the finish product.

When BOZ got the **** knocked out, Bubbles had no answer. Parade out a punter who obviously never kicked in practice yet alone a game. Bubbles requires more special team ACES than ST players and is still subpar over the years.

Bubbles is the last remaining "friend" so there is that.

We have a conundrum: both Boswell and Wright (as of late) have been pretty accurate on FGs and PATs, yet the kickoffs are shorter than most other teams', at least from what I've seen. Even with the KO's moved up to the 35 yard line from the 30 about 11 years ago, our kicks rarely sail past the back endline, resulting in more returns. For sure I'd rather have a kicker with an accurate leg vs. a strong one (both would be nice), but hopefully these KO returns don't become a game-deciding factor.

Bos regularly kicks it out of the endzone, unless Danny calls for a short kick, apparently thinking that we will all of a sudden figure out how to cover a kick. Hardly ever do we stop someone short of the 25 yard line.

Can't blame the D for those 7 points. Agree it would have been an easy win as they had trouble getting 1st downs.

I’m convinced that Bubbles has pictures. This guy is a joke.
Coaching for Tomlin is like a lifetime appointment unless someone over his head says otherwise. We have seen that time and time again.

It's a big difference in coverage when our top cover guy Boykin is missing the game with an injury.
Cope---One man missing on the kickoff coverage team should not make that big of a difference...one would think?

Even with Boykin our Kick coverage is inconsistent at best. It has been that way for years. Combine that with our abysmal blocking on Kick and punt returns and you have to ask yourself how do certain coaches keep their jobs.

I tcould swear I have seen this thread every yer for at least 3 years, when will bubbles be accountable?

In my spirit world ALL are accountable but I will be sure to hold Bubbles to that degree as well.

All too often on the short kick calls someone breaks a long run as well. Too many penalties over the years on returns as well. It got a year or two ago I thought the Steelers should fair catch or kneel every punt and kick because of the penalties. Overall, I'd guess the special teams is pretty average and I don't know if I'd be calling for Smith's job. When it does come time to move on, I hope they get a fresh face.

If nothing else, he needs punched in the face for his gum chewing.

Maybe Matt Canada's little brother could coach special teams.

I could take the job

I'm right there with you, seems we are always interviewing for the same job...........

Coach Cowher was a STs coach at one point, he went out and hired a pretty good STs coach. Tomlin would do good to let the "family friend" retire and get a younger out of franchise hire.

To many ties Bubbles has players out there that seem clueless on rules / positioning / prepared-ness. He also gets to many roster spots for ST Aces'.
