Penn State has a bye which means it's a ****** college weekend. But we must still soldier on with the rest of week 4 anyway. There are a few PSu tidbits though. PSU will appear on a Hard Knocks style show along with 3 less interesting programs.
Also, former PSU QB Tommie Stevens, who many PSU fans have somehow elevated to superstar status despite him rarely attempting a pass while at Penn State, was benched by Miss State last weekend.
There are actually some pretty big games this weekend
Noon - 11 Michigan at 13 Wisconsin
Wisky has looked impressive against 2 weak opponents while Michigan was outplayed and should have lost to Army. Mich was supposed to have this new wide open offense but so far it has looked mostly conservative with a struggling QB, as usual.
Wisky has the great RB Jonathan Taylor and they may have found a QB in Jack Coan. Wisconsin should win this, but It worries me that Wisky had 2 blowouts and Michigan played close games. They could be better prepared for a tough game. Plus Mich is good for a few egregious Big Ten ref assists per game
3:30 - 8 Auburn at 17 Texas A&M
3:30 - 15 UCF at Pitt
UCF doesn't impress me. Pitt plays good defense and causes lots of ugly games. Their QB made some plays vs PSU last week. I have a feeling Pitt wins this if they trust that QB a bit and if they stop making that poor guy run back and forth to the sideline after every single play just to get the playcall. I've never seen anything so ridiculous.
8:00 - 7 Notre Dame and 3 Georgia
must win for ND if they want a shot at the playoff. Almost meaningless for Georgia, because early season losses get memory holed for SEC teams. Hard to think ND has a chance with their history of blowing big games.
