Welcome Back Ike!

oh good! Lobster claws comes back just in time to face Brees.

Welcome back! Although I wish Ike could play safety instead, that's where we need the most help.

Even though he does not intercept the ball very often he is much better than who ever he replaces, as far as staying with the wide out and being in position.

An up grade is always a welcome back. I just hope the rust is off and da catch is on !!!!!

Should have Troy and Ike back for sure this week. Jarvis is probably not there yet. Hopefully Shazier's knee is good to go too. We need this defense to be healthy and start ramping up for a run into January.

jeez. it's a joke people. even Ike knows he can't catch.

Jarvis wasn't impressive when he was full-strength and "ripping it up". I doubt he'd be worth much after just a week or two of practice after a prolonged hiatus on the injury bench.

In 3 games the dude had two sacks and a fumble recovery? Yah he was terrible, wig.

2 1/2 games and he's still only 2 sacks away from the team leaders in sacks and 1 forced fumble away from the leader in that category. Now, some will say that Jarvis was getting tossed around when he sacked Cam. Sure, if having your facemask grabbed and pulled as you're beating the OL on the way to the QB is getting tossed around.

you can see the facemask at around 0:35 of the video as Jones is beating the tackle.

I would rather Ike being worked slowly back in.........

but glad he is back.......................

Great to add defensive depth for the final run. Steelers need a big finish to get back to the playoffs.

Agreed.

Jones had a ton of improvement needed to be a good football player. He looks to have hit the weights this offseason, since his bull rush was much improved. He also held the point of attack pretty well against the run. One poster noted that I was off base in criticizing Jones for the horrible run defense in the 2nd half vs. the Brownies Week 1, since it was Worilds getting shredded.

I re-watched the 2nd half, and yep - Jones did a pretty darn good job.

He had 2 sacks and decent QB pressure. He seemed to be getting better as we watched.

However, a wrist injury is awful. That means his upper extremity strength, his hand fighting, his punch are all impaired. I hope he can help provide pass rush, but I am a realist about his limitations coming back from a bad wrist injury.

Steeltime - If it were me, and he wasn't at least 90%, I'd consider sitting Jones for the rest of the season. Have him continue rehabbing the wrist and come back next year in full health.

This is a VERY LOGICAL statement. They're not allowed here...

Meh, Ike's main job is to keep the other guy from catching passes and not catching passes himself. Which on most days (but not all) he does pretty well.

I think it was greg loydd who wore a T-shirt which read something like " they didn't hire me for my disposition" . I think IKE needs one that says " they didn't hire me for pass catching" !!!!!!

I remember a game, I think two seasons ago, when the other team was going to make an onsides kick and the announcer noted that Ike was on the "hands team". The wife and I both fell off the couch laughing.
