Welcome to Draft day 2025

One glaring issue is they use that 2DL base as a short yardage set when they should “sub” to a larger front.

If the plan is to continue usage of a 2DL base taking the second big ugly made little sense.
Cam and Benton will continue to see the vast majority of the snaps. Harmon and Ekuale will get the majority of the scraps.

Will Nayha be able to crack one of the last two roster spots? Guessing Lowry makes it as last DE so the new kid has likely gotta beat Adams and Loudermilk.

Now if they move to use more 3DL sets and employ a true NT the pick makes a lot more sense.
With as bad as we were against the run at times, especially when it mattered you’d have to hope they explore that option.
As they just released Adams it looks like the rook has a spot.

This is a pretty surprising move at this point in time IMO.

Adams isn't a world beater, but he's an NFL player. Wonder why they wouldn't bring him to camp to compete.

I wonder if there's more behind it.
money/cap would be my guess.

if he doesn't get a contract anywhere you'll get him back for vet min

This is probably at least part of the issue. He has a $2.25MM base salary. So more than the minimum, but not by a lot.

And I don't think that caps go into effect until later in the offseason. So there's no need to do this now. If they wanted him around to compete for a spot, I don't think there'd be a downside to the team (aside from him getting injured in camp and them paying him injury settlement or whatever they do).

My guess is that they're being nice to him. Assume that he woudn't make the team. But give him time to catch on somewhere else.

Because he was getting pushed around the field like an abused buggy down at the Giant Iggle in Homestead.

When they announced they were moving on from Ryan Watts for medical reasons, I figured that was escalated by needing to clear a roster spot for Rodgers, but the second spot opened up by the Adams cut makes me think another move is coming shortly...
