Well, this stinks

At one time this was a big strength of the franchise.
Edmunds had a third round grade and was a horrible pick in this spot.
Bushy really hurt! Moved up ten spots to number Ten and traded second round pick in 2020 draft.
Najee was serviceable RB! Extremely dependable but never worth a number one pick.
Pickett, well he’s already on his third team now after just three seasons.
All horrible picks that no one was held accountable for making. Brain trust of Colbert and Tomlin!

Between 2007-14, the Steelers drafted 5 players in the first round who made the Pro Bowl. From 2015-2024, they've drafted 2 and of those 2, only TJ Watt was a great player. Najee was a volume back and deemed replaceable. Not a great track record in recent years.

Why stop there? Don’t forget Bud Dupree, Jarvis Jones, Artie Burns…it’s been a woeful decade or so of drafting.

Worst of all? Panicking for Minkah after Ben shredded his elbow with a QB rich draft the next season.

Makes the trade of a first for Minkah look pretty good compared to recent draft picks they’ve made 🤔

I hardly call Tua, Herbert and Love “QB rich”
So far none of them has done too much and no way we were drafting early enough for Tua or Herbert anyways (top 6).

Literally the only guy drafted between our traded pick and our second rounder was Love.

So we missed an opportunity for him, I guess.

He definitely benefited from having a few developmental years (behind of all people A Rodger-just can’t get away from that guy these days)

That was the sign to go 3-13 and grab the next franchise QB.

Of well, we got 4 more Tomlinships and Minkah got paid to disappear from the line of scrimmage.

Kinda hard to build a team that way ain’t it? Holy crap how the mighty have fallen. It’s embarrassing.
roughly half of picks get their options declined now. It is the negative narrative you would think it is. It is a CBA issue as much as anything.

If Minkah was the difference between 8-8 and 3-13 that’s putting 5 wins on a singular player that Mike wanted to make a move for. As much as I bust his balls IF Minkak was solely responsible for a 5 game swing in record it is likely the best roster move Mike has ever made.

The flip side of that coin is why would he deploy a guy that can create a 5 game swing in record so far from the LOS now? That’s simply an absurd waste of such an impactful player.

As usual the truth usually lays in that middle ground and we likely go 6-10 or so and he probably only created a few game swing.

But damn if he didn’t for sure keep the Tomlinship
streak intact AND as we all know, that’s all that really matters

Bud Dupree isn’t a bad player. He had 19.5 sacks in his last two years with the Steelers and had 6 sacks with LAC last year as a situational player.

All better than anything we’ve had since 2018. The larger point is that they should have taken their medicine, not panic and trade away a shot at a franchise to finish .500.

Wasn’t bad, didn’t nearly live up to expectations, though. First four years largely disappointing.

Pfft. Pouncey, Heyward, DeCastro drafted 18th, 31st, and 24th overall.

Holmes 25th, Miller 30th, Troy 16th, Hamp 19th, Faneca 26th.

What’s happened is that one man has obtained almost complete control over the entire organization.
And most of that wouldn't have mattered for diddly doo **** if Ben wasn't drafted top 10. Cowher teams went ****** at times but quickly contended for real things. Tomlins teams have been at the bottom of the upper third like clockwork and that's where they stay. But the seat is getting hotter..

funniest you tube clip you have ever posted in response!! omg laughing
I've equated that song to the miserable Bucs since the mid 90s. I never thought it could be attached to the Steelers but the truth of the matter is that they haven't done **** in over 10 years and are not altering course. SOS.....Same old **** which is deserving of Carmen....A **** ton of excitement to start and then turmoil and a slow death at the end... :)

Minkah has been responsible for covering for the lack of ability in front of him. Again, a proof display of Tomlin’s D being garbage, and removing an actual playmaker from that role.

No it’s not. That seat will be vacated only when Tomlin choses to leave. Who is going to turn up the heat, Dookie? He gives him an extension with every1st round playoff blowout loss. Kahn knows he can’t do it because Dookie will overrule him. At this time Kahn is deferential to Tomlin because of tenure. Only when Tomlin chooses to leave will Kahn become a full fledged GM, right now he is riding the training wheels that Tomlin did early.

Oddly if you remember back the team was having a pretty solid-good season by Tomlin standards until Garrett took the wind out of their sails by bashing Mason over the head with a helmet. They were 7-5 coming out of that game and in playoff contention (the standard)…and then Duck proved he was Duck down the stretch and we all said what the ****?
