I'm pretty sure upper management / owners, have a guy sweeping the internet / message boards / articles / etc., just to see what the general consensus is. I mean its a billion dollar franchise, be stupid if they didn't. I'd think a fly sign, would have the opposite effect. Owners / GM would say to each other, if we fire, then the fans think they run the show, so they hang a little longer to show the power. Can 't blame them as I'd do the same. If anyone is thinking they don't care about the general consensus, well with this much money at stake, every rock is turned and turned and turned. That #3500.00 Art rooney (Chief) franchise left about the time Dan waved over power to art !!!, now its a multi owner, money concerned organization.

I don't think Cool Shades is going anywhere any time soon, seen a lot of organizations keep a bad hire for a while so it doesn't look like they made a mistake so soon, but if they're 8-8 and miss the playoffs again I bet LeBeau will be "retired" and Haley gets on with his life's work, and probably Colbert too.
I still think there's hope for Cool Shades, I WANT him to be a good coach and I WANT my team to win, but the arrow is obviously pointing downward, if you will, obviously.

I was thinking it would be fine to stop after the first six words. The three year stretch was after Cowher took a team to the playoffs for his first six seasons, with out a good qb.
