Looks like he iced for the year. Does anyone have an update on his mental and physical health? Even at 80% he better than the garage who's out there minus Heyward.

That ship has sailed. It would probably take him 3-4 games just to get back into decent playing condition. That's IF he's been steady working out and conditioning. What's he doing right now?

Consider how much of a step back Ben took after 1 year off. And he's H.O.F. talent.
Bell was never even close to the player he was before he spent a year jet-skiiing.
I can't imagine Tuitt will ever be the same guy he was. Not even close. It was good of them to keep him on contract, but I can't imagine he's worth another year, even if he tries to come back.

just mho, of course. Love to be proved wrong cause he had become a fair beast on that D-Line.

I don’t think we see Tuitt this year. He’s done for 2021!
Next year is another story though. They have to sit him down in the off season before the draft and let him know they are moving on and if he wants to come back, he will have to earn his job. He’s making far too much money to be sitting so don’t be surprised if he’s released. They better use money very wisely this off season and sign quality players and not other teams scrubs,

Is Tuitt still out due to injury or for depression?

At this point if Tuitt did come back, even if out of shape he’d be better than what the Steelers have.

It was reported by the PG weeks ago he was physically ready to resume full practicing. He had even been at the facility working out. Not that I'm in the know but from everything I have read, it is all mental at this point. I said before the season started he wouldn't be back until at least mid-way through the season, if at all. If they aren't demanding he see a psychiatrist at least a couple of times a week, then this is on the organization. Either way, they did the "honorable" thing by letting him take his time but no one gets to take off more than maybe a week for bereavement. I fully think they should be looking to trade him or cut him this offseason. I know there will be a cap hit but if they can get something for him, I would do it. I doubt they'd get more than a 4th rounder for him but something is better than what we got this year and during his other times he has missed games with injuries.

Tuitt’ s family should encourage him to play. I don’t mean that to sound cold. It’s the opposite. We all experience loss and it takes a long time to fully get over it, but what makes it worse is shutting down. Going back to work is actually a big part of moving forward. And you must move forward.

I guess he hasn't learned that getting back to work is a good benefit for grief.

Tuitt seems very well liked in that locker room and having that second family around him could be very good. I loved watching his BBQ cookoffs with his teammates during the offseason. On the field, when he is at his best he is downright dominant. He doesn't bring it every play, but he is a darn good player and the defense is much better when he's on the field.
