The throw or the catch? A much happier time in Steeler Nation no matter your opinion on which was better.

The TROW, no question.

Ben got robbed on the MVP for that super bowl. He put the throws where needed and holms actually miss a perfect throw through his hands in that same sequence of plays. So essentially, Ben did it twice for the win.

His escape and being able to look down field while doing so is what won that game, MVP in mine and many other's eye as well.

Salute the nation

I dunno, I just can't separate the throw and the catch in this case. Absolutely perfect pass. Absolutely perfect catch. Both players doing their thing with everything on the line in the biggest game on earth. Amazing.

He actually made two good throws. The second one was caught. (The throw)

A throw and catch like that and still just the 2nd best play in that amazing game!

It should have been Ben. Easily.
Any other QB wins Super Bowl MVP that year.

Cumulate those type of snuffs along Ben's career and one can see why it's easy to believe there was an agenda from roger godell. I think that agenda exrended greater than just BEN but also the STEELERS football team.

Salute the nation

Debo running 100 plus yards with no time on clock and almost passing out before getting to the end zone.

The throw was insane, Ben actually thought he overthrew it when he released it. The catch is EQUALLY as insane with the focus and out of bounds awareness.

Ben is third all time in career 4th quarter comeback wins and if they counted all the times he brought them back only to have the d blow it he’d be way out front in that category

Both were tremendous. The fact that Ben made a fantastic throw the play before and Santonio dropped it put a lot of pressure on Ben to duplicate what he had just done. That throw was the biggest clutch TD pass in the Superb Owl that I can think of...and it was a freaking rocket.

I've seen these analytics videos where they analyze the play and come up with a percentage that the play succeeds. I wonder what the % of completion this play had on it.

That entire drive was epic! Wrecked my nerves. Great play.

The throw and it's not even close. Ben has to think about how hard to throw the ball, how much air to put under it, where he needs to place the ball, avoid the pass rush, the timing of the pass. Ben has to be the professor of the entire play. SH has to worry about actually catching the ball and get his feet in.

I’ll say it again here,I was at the game and was elated at the TD
BUT waiting minutes to wait for the replay to see if it counts was very anti climactic

It really bummed me out how Ben was overlooked for MVP in that game.
Holmes played a great game, true. But hus biggest play on that drive, aside from the TD catch only happened because a DB slipped & fell.

On the other hand, Ben just kept making great passes all through the drive.

And I would have to watch the last drive again, but I betcha Ben was running no-huddle on that series.
