WASHINGTON — The Obama administration on Tuesday will announce a proposal to open up coastal waters from Virginia to Georgia for oil and gas drilling, according to a person briefed on the plan.

Opening the Eastern Seaboard to oil companies is a prize the industry has sought for decades and is a blow to environmental groups.

At the same time, in Alaska, the administration will ban drilling in some portions of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas.

So, trading the Atlantic coast beaches to save the reindeer - curious.

As long as they stay away from FL's beaches, I'm Ok with it.

That's all well and good, except no one is drilling right now. Obama has let his Muslim brothers dump oil into this country for less than it costs us to drill, without penalty. The prices at the pumps are great, but it's trickling down and is bad for the country in the long run. Steel mills are slow, pipe manufacturers are idled, Baker Hughes and Schlumberger have fired 16,000 people. Chemical companies, trucking companies, drillers, metalworkers, all the people related to the oil and gas industry are struggling right now. And you won't hear about it from communist news media.

Do Obama's Muslim brothers work for Exxon Mobil? Most of the oil we get from the Middle East comes from Exxon Mobil.
And because Exxon Mobil acts in the best interest of its shareholders, it drills in the parts of the world where it will make the most
money.

It will probably be awhile before we build the Myrtle Beach pipeline.

Makes total sense. Ban drilling in bumfuck Alaska, where they actually want it, veto the Keystone pipeline, and open up the Atlantic coast for drilling. What a petulant douche.

******* guy is the biggest anti American tool ever! And he's our president! I just want to ******* punch people who voted for him twice.

So what if Exxon has a presence in Saudi Arabia? It made good business sense when they set it up. Regardless, it has nothing to do with the big picture today and, frankly, shows your incompetence regarding the current situation. The bottom line is that it's the USA vs. OPEC and the Terrorist-in-Chief is on the side of OPEC.

.

Good. How am I supposed to listen to the automated singing mice while eating pizza with a drilling rig tearing the place up?

This should get interesting

Despite the risks posed by offshore drilling, lawmakers in Virginia and other Southeastern states have pushed to open up their waters to oil companies, lured by the prospect of new revenues.

Both of Virginia's Democratic senators, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, support drilling off their state's coast.

Oil revenues > Greenie campaign contributions
Not a hard decision.
