I am not an Xs and Os guy. The NFL offense has changed. Why can't we go back to smashmouth football? Insert a full-time fullback like we had with Tim Lester. A tight-end that can block and catch. Fill the offensive line with high draft picks. Get two stud Wrs...Physically move guys off the ball, then hit them up top with Play-action? Why do we not see this anymore? What negative is there to running this kind of offense in 2021?

None. It makes too much sense. Too many years of trying to be a finesse team passing to set up the run. That ship sailed when Ben,Brown and Bell couldn't get it done. No greatest show on turf part 2 Pittsburgh Style, now they'll have a painful transition back if they can find their way.
Cause we’re constantly drafting later and historically don’t make those free agent moves

I don't think he's complaining about the running game. I think he's frustrated with the Steelers offensive philosophy in general. Like most of us.

But apparently that’s too “predictable” for our coaches, and showing the have ZERO confidence in our O-Line getting a push.

Our offensive line still isn't very good and you can see this because none of our other backs are capable of doing anything productive. Najee is a terrific player and is making a lot of those yards happen.
I know it takes time it fully install an offense, but we are seeing a good bit of what Canada wants to do and it is not producing any points. This is what happens when you promote from within rather than do a real search and hire the best candidate.

Game has changed. Not to say there will never be some circle back. What I would like to see is this defense walk up to the line and play aggressive.
I said to myself, give it to Najee 4 times if you have to, and he'll score.

i think the we'd get ripped in important games down the stretch where your 6'5 DEs that go 280-290 but run a 4.5 & the 6'4 ILBers going 265-275 running 4.6 would slam a wall into our RB - regardless of our well-blocking linemen.
At that point your offense is worse than 1 dimensional; it's thoroughly boundary/ space challenged.
This is because you don't got the horses/ experience to challenge safties to cover two different areas of the field. If all you got is a power running game, then coordinators not only throw in a man-cover 1, you get MFers jumping in front of routes cause they don't respect double moves nor some timing routes that would otherwise burn them for 6.
Think of it as a game like NE v Tebow. The D needs to respect some **** from you.

Well. I DID see a play where Mason was in shotgun, received the snap and handed laterally to Najee... and no fewer than FOUR lion defenders were already past the line of scrimmage and the offensive linemen when Najee got the ball.
Shockingly, Harris DID make it back to the line of scrimmage, and he may have even picked up a half yard.
But, yes. the O and D line were pretty much abused yesterday from what I saw when my stupid stream wasn't trying to save my marriage by crapping out on me.
