It's kinda beyond my comprehension when for the second year this guy should be packing his bags the league rolls out the red carpet. Look no one hates Brady more then me, but he had more than a 1000 more passing yards. I realize it's with much less attempts. With the off field stuff and then his continuing playoff fails. I just do not get it. Kupp had damn near 2k yards in the regular season. There is a great deal more separation from the pack by him then Rogers and the QBs. Brutal.

This is a QB recognized league for better or worse. That is what they like to zoom in on. I think the award is a regular season based award. So you mentioned stats. If we go that route is yards or TD Vs Int more relevant to outcomes over yards passed? Take their Ints and subtract them from their TDs and you will find Aaron leads the pack. Also important WINS. Packers tied for the league lead. Just spitballing here but that is a few aspects to look at. Congratulations to our future QB may he one day be our MVP.😁

I actually thought Brady should have won it. His numbers were definitely better than Rodgers but that appeared not to matter this year. And, Kupp had just a monster year - one of the best in NFL history.

At least Watt didn't get screwed again.

I would have given it to Kupp. That guy was blowing it up out there. They just love them some QB.

Well all I know is if they are gonna use all these statistical gyrations of TD- interceptions plus the square root of your teams wins multiplied by pie r squared then Ben Roethlisberger should have been the ****** MVP once. I mean when you go to NFL.com and punch in passing leaders Rogers face is 10th. Odd place for the MVP to start. And honestly Slash Aaron Rogers coming to Pittsburgh is the ****** worst possible outcome. You will pay a kings ransom and he has a short window of relevance and you and I both know Tomlin isn't gonna close out a SB. So you got Tomlin and a guy who perennially chokes in the playoffs for what two first round picks and maybe more.

Don’t know it warrants another thread, but regarding the NFL Honors, it’s a shame Najee didn’t get a single vote for Offensive ROY?

No doubt Chase was deserving and the others that got votes were deserving of votes, but Najee certainly was too! 300+ touches for 1200+ yards rushing, AND 74 receptions for 300+ yards. 1600+ total yards (more than Chase) and 10 total TD’s… heck on top of rushing touches/yards, he had only 10 less receptions than Chase. Not 1 vote???

Which is why they should have a yearly best QB award, to go along with OPOY and DPOY. MVP should entertain ALL players on either side of the ball. Sometimes the best player on a team doesn’t necessarily means start the play. Sometimes it can be the one that ends it. On BOTH sides of the ball.

You know AR is just my pipedream pay it no mind. As far as Ben goes we know they weren't going to give that man ****. You see how reluctant they were just to give TJ an award. Those voters dislike them some Steelers.

He is a Steeler so by NFL protocol you have to put 1 to 5 votes in the wastebasket 🗑️.

The Steelers ranked 28th in the league in Rushing. No way around that.
I know Harris set the rookie rushing record for Pittsburgh 307 carries for 1200 yards in 17 games.
Willie Parker rushed 255 times for 1202 yards in 15 games in 2005, as a first year starter (technically his rookie year)

Puts it in perspective.

There were so many more deserving candidates, but I place the league MVP right next to the Pro Bowl at this point.

Technically playing in 8 games in 2004 made that Parkers rookie year.

Only award that really means anything is the Lombardi Trophy.

And there's one sitting in the P&R forum if you wanna go check it out.

:ROFLMAO:

These leagues need to make a new award. They need the MVP for the player most valuable to his team. If you take them out of the lineup, which team would struggle the most? Give the award based on true value.

The other award needs to be Most Outstanding Player. Give this to the best player in the league.

Well said. Agreed. Offensive player of the year. Defensive player of the year. And MVP.

I’m sorry, but I still believe that if you can’t win the OPOY or DPOY, you should not be considered for MVP.

Watt should have been MVP lol
