Why the Steelers should make a DT high on their priority list.....

Because we need one....or two.

What does Steelers Nation think?
 
I’d trade up to 15 if Davis is still there.

But hell yeah, we need a legit NT to help fix the run D issue…I like Aluala, but at 35 coming off an injury I have tempered expectations for him.

Pure speculation of moving up to 5 for Willis then in all seriousness and reality they should go to #1 for DAVIS.

Not sure 15 will get you Davis, I think maybe 12.

I like Aluala,but as you said coming off of a big injury and being long in the tooth isn't something I have much faith in. And Tuitt I have even less faith in. You have to go team first here, unless you want to get carved up again on the ground.
 
The draft has some very good DT's - Davis, Wyatt, Mathis, Jones, and yes, Hall.

I think Davis is gone by 15 too…15 is just about the range where a trade up wouldn’t cost too much capital. He’s top 10 talent and I’d definitely be making calls early and often if he lasts past 10 to see what it would take. I’m with you though that he goes around 12ish. Some team is gonna get a wrecking ball when they draft Davis. Would look absolutely phenomenal in black and gold!
 
If we're talking about a DT who can back up and/or eventually replace Alualu, it's gotta be Wyatt or Jones in the first round. Davis will be gone. Wyatt is a better version of Hargrave and Jones is your typical NT. I don't believe either will make it out of the first round. Hall if your looking to push Wormley and ultimately replace Tuitt, he definitely won't be there past early day two. IMO, Wyatt may very well be our pick at 20, he seems to have the most versatility and can be kept on the field regardless of situation.

I guess I'm a tad more excited about Wyatt and Jones at NT. Should have included him. I'm guessing Jones goes before him but Mathis is a mountain with long arms, huge hands etc. He could go 1st round or 1st half of second. I think the 20th pick is high for him. Jones is a year and a half younger than Wyatt and Mathis but didn't play in the same league as they did. Jones has the same measurable as Mathis but is heavier and pretty damm mobile for a guy that size.

of course, they are true 1st rounders, but I mean if we miss on either Mathis would be a great consolation price in the 2nd round
