I think they game they needed to win is in the rear view mirror. So they will be lucky if they make it now.

If they drop the next 2, finish at 8-8, do we start talking "fire Tomlin " again?

Tomlin unfortunately saved his butt with his patented "non-losing" season.

I'm afraid we are stuck with his 8 to 10 wins a year, regardless of who he has on his roster.

They will make the playoffs for the same reason they won 8 games... they play a horrible team next week. They'll beat the 5 win Jets (who lost to the bungles) and probably win against Baltimore if they rest a few players.

After Ben went down and the 0-3 start, my expectations weren't high and a 4-12 season seemed likely to me.

Winning recently against sub 500 teams really hasn't changed my opinion all that much. I'm just enjoying the season, and if they make the playoffs, it will be one more game to sit back, relax and watch.

But that offense though..... ouch.

Not sure if anyone noticed but.........TN plays NO this week....NO is in a 3 way battle for the #1 & #2 seed. They are gonna wanna win this game badly to get the BYE

The problem with that is we need TN to lose week 17 v Houston. That helps us with the conference record tie breaker if we have the same record. If we win both games we are in and it shouldn't matter. I feel good about the team on Sunday. Week 17 is a dice roll. Arch rival in a game they don't need but they can knock us out of the playoffs. They won't want to play Jackson v our D.

Even if they lose but win against Houston and we lose one we are toast

The NO game is in Nashville. Still don't think they'll win but it's almost impossible to win in NO. Playing at home will give them an edge but NO has too much fire power for them.

Win out and we are fine... if we lose one then the titans have to lose to Houston... there were other ways for this to work out, but we needed the colts to win vs NO... and that didn’t happen

The reality is if we cannot beat a bad NY jets team and a Baltimore team likely playing for nothing, we don’t deserve to be in anyhow

The playoff formula for Steelers to get in with 9-7 season is potentially mind boggling

My prediction is the Tomlin backers, will blame the QB, and the guy he hired to run the offense if the Steelers finish 8-8. The EPIC collapse of 2018, and losing to bad teams are hallmarks of Tomlin's resumes.

This team shouldn't have sniffed 8-8. To even have a chance at 10 or 11 (blown last week) was amazing. I never thought we'd get to 10-6 and still have my doubts. 9-7 would be nice but it will take a lot of help for us to get in.

The Titties are doing the smart thing this week and resting Henry and possibly others. He is inactive for the game. They know next weeks game is the only one that matters for them and they should win it with the Texans resting their players.

Realistically I think we have a good chance at getting into the playoffs but Shades is usually one-and-done with better teams than this.

You were saying?...

Statistically I think they're still alive, but does anyone other than maybe the Ravens, Chiefs, Bills, or Pats* want them to be in?
