Go check the highlight of Boz failing to convert on the fake FG. Unarguably a pivotal moment of the game and a defensive highlight fer sure for the Browns.

Well, I mean the refs repeatedly failed to call offensive PI when Steelers receivers grabbed defenders arms, wrapped them around themselves, then grabbed the defenders hands and forced them - FORCED, mind you - to grab a handful of jersey.

Repeatedly.
 
Yeah it's aggravating for sure. I'm just glad Boz isn't really screwed up for the rest of the season.
 
I knew it the moment the play happened that should have been a Roughing penalty...15 yds & automatic first down! The fact that an officiating crew couldn't see this makes me wonder WTF they were looking at while this play was transpiring. Boswell got absolutely blasted after he threw it the Clowns player took 3 steps at full speed right into Boswell....helmet to helmet. HOW CAN THEY MISS THIS?

When the clowns later got called for a defensive lineman holding on a running play... I think that was the first time I've ever seen that called twice in a game. Hell, in a season, for that matter.

It's rare like seeing a unicorn. That second call was a makeup call. Just to make it look good. I swear the NFL does this to rile fans up. That game was way way out of whack from the norm.


Must be a Halloween thing today.
 
That side judge did not see much all day what was ironic the other side judge who on a Td try and two point try did not see what thing of interference ( what is interference anymore by the way) the the fumble you had the three stooges head ref and these two side judges gathering to talk over what was clearly a fumble. These three were suspect all day. Then you watch the bungles get a call for helmet to helmet on a tackle and think of Boz. By the way our beloved ref from Washington Gene texted should have been a flag on two counts. Love the NFL and how this was handled.
 
Several points to make here…

1. It was absolutely a blown call
2. The late out of bounds hit on mayfield that got ignored was their feeble attempt at a make up call to make things look better to the great unwashed…. Not a true immediate makeup call…. Nope a shinejob….

Hey I’ll say it, the fix was probably in and we broke the fix… those refs were horrible and should get fined or investigated…. I swear after landry fumbled, the one patted the other on the back and told him that it would be ok 😂


Whatever… Roger should know that some narratives are going to fall regardless… like successful Browns…

And they called roughing the passer on the Highsmith Watt hit.
 
Did you all notice that the umpire was all the way back behind the safety? I looked it up online and it says that he/she should be behind the backers, which is what we're all used to. WTH was that dude doing?

The hit on Mayfield was not late. His foot was still in bounds when he was first contacted by both Steelers defenders. Had they called that a penalty, they would have been wrong, again.
 
He was hit late. He was hit to the head by the defender lower his head and making contact with the top of his helmet. So, which penalty did you miss Hocker?

It would have been by rule ok to call that a late hit out of bounds since he was already out when he got hit in the back..

I disagree. The player who hit him made initial contact while he was still in bounds. He would have had to have been out of bounds before first contact for a penalty to be warranted.

I see it as borderline late and it gets called like that a lot.. the rule clarifications state that if the player has the ability to turn upfield then its not one but headed out like Maysfield was the defender has the obligation to avoid contact…

hit on Mayfield wasnt late and wasnt to the same degree as the hit on Boz.

aside from that, I was pleasantly pleased with how they picked up the flag after the sack on Ben where the LB kneed Ben twice in the facemask while getting up.
