Zach Frazier might be an All Pro soon

He often is quiet and that can be a great compliment for an Olineman then you see the clips and you can see he isn’t the victim he is the aggressor. The bully on the block, the mover, the beast.

That last clip shows the run blocking at its best. Frazier mauls the nose tackle, McCormick and Fautanu blow up the LDE, Cook runs to get in front of the RDE and shield him off from Warren, and Heyward with a great block after going a long way to find a defender unblocked.

The only one who whiffed on the play? Jonnu Smith ... dude is not Darnell.

I like all three young OL, Frazier, McCormick, and Fantanu. Bright future with these young guys.
LT still question marks with Broderick Jones and Dylan Cook. The latter has really made the most of his opportunity and it should be a great competition this summer.
LG, idk! Maybe they extend Seamulo (spelling) or turn to FA and the draft.

One of the reasons I have some glimmer of hope for a playoff win this year is the improvement of the offensive line with those young players.
I could also say the same for the improvement of the defensive line this year also. For the first time in several seasons, both of our lines seem to be a positive and not a liability.

Love seeing clips like these. Football at every level from pee wee to the pros is still won in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Steelers have a rich history at center and I hope Frazier continues in that direction!

Yeah, our stupid Shades had no idea what he was doing when he signed off of those 3...
Thing is when you have a coach that gets accolades for having talent yinz then have to do something with that talent. Healthy team plus talent should equal playoff win right?

😀

I knew he would be good when they drafted him. Just from him being a 4 time heavy weight wrestling state champion. That kinda grit and athleticism at that size doesn't grow on trees.

It's that **** ing hard work and ridiculous conditioning in wrestling, that set his foundation for football success.

The blocking on the Gainwell walk in stretch play was PERFECT. I don't like those because it so easily becomes a hold. But I didn't see anything. They will have to sort out starters but Dylan Cook gets a helmet all season next year.
Maybe we move him or Jones to guard to replace Isaac.

I think they need 2- trench workers in 2nd / 3rd / 4th round.

LG priority and DL.

We have the makings of a great OL, young / athletic. Now we need a better OL coach / scheme.

As much as I dislike the zone scheme in general, the coach has them playing much better and they seem to be getting the hang of it more and more. I wouldn't have said this earlier in the year, but the O Line coach may have earned another year.

Outside of QB, WR is far and away the top need on this team.

Depending how they feel about Pierre, CB may be a top need as well.

I think DL will be the other focus. They attacked the OL in back-to-back years and I think they'll do the same with DL. Definitely a Day 1 or 2 draft pick.

Safety is probably fourth for a Day 1-2 pick for me. Injuries took a toll and challenged the depth.

Guard can be resolved with a UFA signing or mid-round pick. McCormick came in from a small school and was serviceable as a rookie and has been really good this season.

Pass protection has been good this year. Run blocking is still too messy compared to good run blocking teams. Warren would put up monster numbers if they could open up more holes.

I hear yaz on many accounts, but I don’t want to pick a QB unless the Tomlin has moved on. It’s so hard to know until that aspect has been addressed. I got a feeling he is here 2+ years, so a QB is inevitable

We do have big needs, tomlin or not, but the groundhog slows my mojo and ambitions.

Time will play a lot out as well as to how far we go in the playoffs.

Pick position will determine some as well.
