I know we all expect great things and ask so much in this your rookie year, and at times these expectations can be unrealistic,
Thank you young man for being the man on that final drive and leading this team to a huge emotional win that was only a fitting way to honor #32.
Keep your head up and keep working Kenny. You can be special I know it and feel it. The stage is never too big for you. Some men are just born leaders and you fit that perfectly.
Be patient with Steelernation since we can sometimes be impatient. We’ve been spoiled with TB and Ben but also disappointed with all the QBs in between.
We want you to be the best Kenny Pickett you can possibly be. I’m liking what I’ve seen so far despite all the negatives of this team.
Again, thank you Kenny for delivering last night.

I agree, just wish he wasn't greeted in the backfield on nearly every carry.
True. I really blame the OC the most on it too. Yes yes the OL blows *** but the lack of play action, deep balls to 14, the use of a FB (other when it’s short yardage and even brain dead sleepy Joe knows who’s getting it) adds up to no running game

This is not how you help a young QB.

Harris had 16 attempts. 16. This man needs the rock at least 20-25times a game.
That's why you draft a running back in the first round. I will say I was happy they finally used him in the passing game again. 74 receptions on 94 targets as a rookie, just 38 catches on 49 targets this season.

I know, I agree with you.
You have one of the best blocking FBs in the league but they refuse to use him.
You want to help Kenny utilize Derek Watt as a lead blocker for Najee and Jaylen and establish a running game.
They would rather throw it all on the rookie QB.

The lack of play action drives me crazy. There's just no flow to the play calling most of the time. Even when they handed off to the FB on the short yardage play, I had a feeling that was going to happen when I saw the formation. If someone like me, who never played any high caliber football, can recognize that, the opposition defense must just be laughing.

I’m telling y’all this! Whomever comes in here next year as the OC (please terminate Canada) they havegot to find more plays for Connor Heyward.
Incorporate him in as the second TE, HBack, or even as s slot receiver but get him involved.
The kid is a football player pure and simple and he’s being wasted.

I am Kenny neutral for the most part. I cant say I wanted him drafted but I certainly don’t think he is going to be a bust. He has a chance to be really good but I don’t trust our development process or lack thereof… our QB coach’s great success was eli ******* manning.. the most vanilla sb winner ever…

He did ok yesterday… but he is regressing in certain areas because of our philosophies and shortcomings… early on he was more aggressive and more accurate.., now he isn’t as good standing in there because he is probably getting gun shy from the potential concussion thing..

This was a guy that was top 3 against the blitz all year who was horrible against it most of the game yesterday because we didn’t build him a trustworthy line and he is sometimes rushing things

The line is not good enough for play action against most d lines. They play well against bad/average D lines and that makes them fools gold. If they don't draft O-line first next year or make good trades/pickups then that will signal that Tomlin is only interested in mediocrity( something some of us already know) 8 million a year( same as McDermott by the way...) Mikey is going to ride the middle of the pack train till the wheels fall off ,old man Rooney dies or runs out of money. Middle of the pack keeps butts in seats and Doobie Brothers lyrics still relevant:

"But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him.."

Tomlin is fools black and gold.

And don't take this comment wrong I'm not calling you a fool, your post didn't even mention Tomlin. I'm talking about the fervent Tomlin supporters who still don't get it.

People can say what they want about the kid… but he’s poised and has shown to not make the same mistake twice.

Give him a Oline and a full off-season and he will be just fine

Ben was perfectly imperfect. What is gonna matter is how good Kenny gets and when he is at his best.

Conner Heyward, Derrick Watt,Pickens, are not being used properly.

Get the OL upgraded for year two and add an elite playmaker for year three.

Our young guns are going to be special - Picket, Pickens, Najee, and Muuth. Add in DJ if he can keep his head on straight and this O has the foundation of something special. Solidify the line with a top draft pick or two and watch this O excel. Of course, this all hinges on Canaduh getting the boot. Oh, yes, Conner Heyward absolutely needs to be a regular piece of this offense. As someone said in another thread, he is a football player. He may not fit your typical mold but the kid just seems to make things happen.

How about some passes out of the backfield?

Salute the nation

None of it will matter if they don't axe the OC. But yeah in the process upgrade the trenches. With an extra pick I don't see why that elite playmaker can't be year 2.

I will say this about the oline. Regardless of what people think there will probably only he minor upgrade. Their perspective is going to be that it takes time for an oline to gell and they trended upward as the season went on. I'm still taking a Tackle round one but I'm not positive they are.

When I'm saying elite, I want the Steelers to go out and get a guy like the Bills got Diggs for Allen, Brown for Hurts, or Hill for Tua. If that isn't an option, moving up to get a gamebreaker with speed...something this team really lacks.

Kenny Pickett
26/39, 244yds, 1TD, 1INT

D.Watson
15/31, 135yds., 0TD, 1 INT

We got the better deal for the money.

The formation and the personnel on the field. How many times are they going to trot Boykin and Gunner O out there (as the only WR’s, mind you), and believe that the defense is going to think anything other than “yep, they’re running the ball here!” Who do you think you’re fooling? The offensive coaching boasts some of the stupidest minds through any/every level of football.
