I'd be intersted in the Myles Garrett trade offer packages.

Keeping Pickens just sends a real ****** message. And his antics are on full display. You just can't have that.
In the grand scheme of things, Pickens "antics" are far less than anything we've dealt with before. That **** message was sent years and years ago. But his antics aren't even close to the same. And the reason his seem to be amplified, I think is that fans are gunshy from the things that AB did to force his way out, or the lack of effort that Claypool displayed, or the ACUAL quitting that DJ did.

I really think we missed the opportunity to at least TRY and sign JuJu after he was released from the Pats last off season. He has proven to be a quality WR2, and he's the possession type receiver this team just doesn't have. Could have been had for cheap too. 1 year 1.2m is what he signed for, the same exact contract we signed Van Jefferson to.

oh well, both are available now lol

What would trading Watt and bringing in Garrett get you. Both players are reaching the time when the play is slowing down. Garrett got a lot of hype is the reason he seems have a glow around him.

I just really could not disagree more. AB was not any problem at the games......till he was. Then it all became a flood and he was gone. Bryant was never a problem. He just was mentally ill and was addicted to the cheddar. Juju loved Tic Toc and branding but in hindsight that's pretty much peanuts. He's been picked up twice and played two SBs since with a good organization. Claypool was definitely a head case and as soon as he started talking that top 5 receiver bullshit I was like here we go. But this asshat must have done at least 6 or 7 ridiculous things on national tv already. I think you are really underestimating his stupidity.

Nope, I just view things differently than you do. He hasn't cost us games, doesn't take the bait when the media tries...he's a young kid, no legal problems, he'll be fine.

Q. Do you really believe even if they decide to keep him this season that they will actually give him a second contract? I'd say next to zero chance of that. So whatever you think whatever I think. I can almost guarentee they Steelers are not going to invest in George Pickens.

guarantee? I'll put a wager on that. I bet they offer him an extension.

I don't think JuJu should be lumped in here at all. He did tik tok, but so what? Thats like saying guys can't go golfing or out to eat or whatever. Guys don't do football 24/7. He seemed to work hard, but had a couple of memorable fumbles that people seem to blame for his social media. Then the team became obsessed with Claypool and totally changed JuJus role. I don't think he is a true #2 receiver anymore, but he is a good blocker who can move the chains. Pickens is a gamble. He is the most talented guy we have had for a long time and one of the more talented young WRs, but he has alot of red flags. His talent is being wasted with our terrible offensive philosophy which leads to frustration. I do not think he will be happy here unless the team under goes massive changes. The steelers are in a very tough spot with Pickens. I can not fault them whichever direction they go with him. There is no clear cut answer.

Offer or sign, gotta be more specific.

I can't control what Pickens does, he may want to get out of here asap without demanding a trade. But the way Khan talked, they want to extend him, and I would like to see it happen. They will at least extend an offer to Pickens.

Spot on
Writers have tried to bait him and he’s declined the bait

As far as penalties go I checked last season as he’s right in the middle of the pack for receivers.

Sure he does some weird stuff on the field from time to time, but his talent far outweighs his idiosyncrasies imo

Was he honest when asked if he didn’t have faith the offense would improve-sure he was…only a moron would have said yes I see signs pointing to that. Hell all of SN knows the scheme is broken. Would people have preferred a stupid lie there?

He’s a kid in a bad situation with a boatload of talent that is getting frustrated by things he can’t control. It happens.

Our receiver room without him is barely college level, I know that for a fact.

Well, this sets the price for TJ Watt at $41 million per year. I never understood why the Steelers never get ahead of the market when it comes to guys the want to sign long term.

Mr. I just want to win it isn't about the money just blew that narrative. Further handcuffing his already cash strapped team.
Yeah that pretty much ***** on anything that comes out of his mouth about winning for the rest of his career. If they made good moves now they are 4 years from contending and he's gone. What he says at the press conference will be laughable.

They look to have screwed the pooch with Fields and now are probably going to have to pay millions more per year to keep Watt. This off-season is not starting off very well.

Anyone can WANT to do something. Sure, the Steelers would love to extend GP, see him grow up and become the next Jerry Rice, doesn't mean any of it will happen.

Personally, if it were me, I would leave first chance I got. While I have been a Steeler fan for almost 50 years, I would not commit my career to Mike Tomlin and his proven failed philosophical approach to winning football and an Ownership so clueless to what is needed in today's pro sports world.

If they land Metcalf and his $30 million+ contract ask, they won't be signing GP to a long term deal. Can't afford 2 huge WR contracts and play around with Watt and a QB not named Fields.

They can't have much left to spend.
The Browns have nothing to spend as they were $50m+ over the cap before this move. Garrett had the Browns over a barrel, as they had to get his (and Watson's) 2025 cap hit down substantially to have any chance of being within the cap by the cutoff date.

DPCOY

Defensive Player Contract of the YEAR

Cleveland extended the cap ****-ed up. Watson, now Garret helmet head slapper………….

4 year extentsion......$40 mill per year......$122.8 mill guaranteed. Wonder what Watt will want? LOL

So what happens when TJ signs a 4 year extension for $41M per with a total $125M gteed later this week?

i think a lot of players can stomach a few more Ls each season and no playoffs in exchange for that Generational Wealth Creation with the big second contract and further extensions. winning the SB is great for the fans, and the player, but the allure of that immense family wealth is pretty clear.
