i was on a giant rose farm run by very pale Dutch folks.
They had running wildebeests and established a new school near the village (3,000) that they had "established" to keep workers near the farm. So either not everyone got run out, our some were able to buy back in.

I hope we never go back to when a working class family could own their house, a couple cars and put their kids through school on one source of income. That was masochistic, racist and probably other ists and that would be awful.
 
Society was also so much worse off when we didn't have drunks, drug addicts, homeless and other colorful people all over the place when you visit a city. They make going out to eat or out on the town much more interesting.

I had a poli-sci major roommate in college, nice guy, we got along well with the four of us that shared an apartment in Oakland while at Pitt.
Poli-Sci major became an undertaker.
Biology major became the executive director of the Pennsylvania fish commission
Art Institute of Pittsburgh built and designed the sets for Mr. Rogers
Pharmacy, yeah, simply pushed drugs for 45 years.

The only reason that Kelly is a Senator is because his wife was shot in Tucson. He's an empty suit that hopefully will be gone next election if the GOP can put up a candidate that can walk and chew gum at the same time.
