The Official Please Don't Draft Shedeur Sanders Thread

I’m wondering if Sanders not getting picked in the first round wasn’t mostly about his on field abilities…

A lot of rejoicing and putting down a kid for no reason at all. It was also just the first round. Saying he looks stupid now that he didn't get drafted is a dumb look.

Back in the day. I used to love me some Colorado players.

Those were the days.

😄
Oh yeah, Kordell was way ahead in his day. If he was playing now under the offense Lamar uses he would be on par or better.

If only Pittsburgh had more variety of sushi restaurants and reptile centers, maybe Chad Brown would have stayed. He definitely would have had a better career in the 3-4 scheme.

Ugh now why do you want to wish Milroe on us?

😉
What’s going to happen if someone drafts Milroe ahead of Shedur? Is there going to be another Mel Kiper freak out?

You're correct, he will get drafted, perhaps with the first pick tonight by Cleveland as others have said.

32 teams decided that he wasn't first round talent and that's all. It's now just a question of how far he slides.

Other than the emotional attachment to the Steelers, none of us have skin in this game, so sit back and be entertained.

If he had a stronger arm, he might have gone first overall.

I don't feel the disdain for the kid that many seem to, but it's hard to take a QB in the first round with an average arm and who was rarely asked asked to make NFL reads in college.

At least Kenny Pickett played in a pro-style offense at Pitt.

A lot of the throws he made were within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. There’s not a lot of NFL throws to look at on tape. I think he’ll be fine in the NFL. Not great, not horrible but certainly serviceable. FWIW, he’s more NFL ready than Milroe is right now, but I think Milroe has more potential. Neither of them will amount to much if drafted by Pittsburgh because both need development that the Steelers seem unable to provide.

I want this thread stickied. Because it's going to be a real embarrassment if the Browns get him today and we have to have him twice.

The Steelers offense already has problems scoring points. Picking a mediocre QB late in the draft won't help.

Like I said all week, and last night, I'm not seeing how anyone is comparing next year's QB class better??? Archie will be a fool to enter the draft after only one full year at QB1 in college...
I agree with your last paragraph. This guy has only thrown 95 passes, nobody knows yet how he will turn out. The way people are yapping about him....he would be a #1 selection and you’d be a fool to trade it. How people figure us drafting where we generally draft would have a chance is beyond me.

The interesting thing for me about yesterday’s draft is that for the second time in 3 years we basically had the pick of any QB in the draft besides Cam. Which is pretty well unheard of considering we draft in the 20’s. Our pick of the litter.
We all saw how that turned out the first time. The market Was correct. This draft will be forever linked in history to we had a choice of Sanders or Dart. Or any of the others. Personally I was hoping there was a way we could get Dart and a DT. I figured someone would trade back into the first for him. I thought it would be Cleveland. While it seems most disagree,I thought Dart had a bit of Big Ben in him. It shall be interesting to see how his and Sanders careers progress.

By the way I might add. Remember the excitement of having those two picks in the second round. It was frigging great. Trading high picks away sucks. I’m never jealous of Cleveland. But Mann, you could get some potentially great players where they are picking.

Looked pretty foolish with that Flavor Flave looking $ sign necklace on while waiting to be drafted, then not getting drafted, LOL. This is what happens when you come across as an entitled jerk in meetings, while not being that talented. You can get away with being a entitle jerk if you have some kind of elite attributes, but he has none. He did change the game and turned Colorado into a winning culture and deserves his jersey retired, just ask him.
Consider how bad it was that his dad couldn't wait for his draft to settle and "retire" his number next year. I didn't even know they did that in college. Glad they past. Damn glad.

The problem with Shedeur is he thinks he is better than he is. Confidence goes a long way when you pair it with humility. IMO he comes across as smug and saying he is going to save a franchise immediately.is not realistic.
Do I have an eye on a QB in this draft, NO. Now we must dodge the Jalen Milroe pick

I would be fine with Sanders in the third round... Even the second had we still had a pick there...

I think his coach-ability just increased by roughly the weight of the chip on his shoulder now...

He was supposedly so arrogant in interviews with some teams that they took him off their boards entirely

Yep, I heard that as well. Then after Colorado (Deion) announced they were retiring his jersey. He could've said something like "That's a great honor for me, I couldn't have done it without my teammates or something along those lines"
When asked why he deserves to have his jersey retired, he said, "I changed the game, I turned Colorado into a winning culture" How in the f#ck did he change the game??? LOL

I’m not rejoicing but understand why teams might have serious reservations about him the potential circus he could bring.

I said he looked foolish showing up with a giant $ symbol necklace on and then another guy in his camp with giant hat with a big dollar sign on it. What exactly does the big $ symbol mean??? Big money??? Well he and his camp look foolish, not sure why that's a bad thing to say. Alot are celebrating that the Steelers didn't draft him, are we not allowed to not want a player drafted here? I didn't see anyone saying I hope this kid has horrible career, or I hope he's a bust, or I hope he never plays in the NFL.

You flat out said he didn't get drafted and looks dumb now. I get it, you're super old school... But it was just the first round. Did you hear what he said after?

You just seem to throw a lot of speculation on him based on how he dresses. He's Deion's kid, you think it isn't going to be flashy? Doesn't mean he is egotistical or entitled.

Never said dumb, said foolish, that's on the draft every year, guys sitting and waiting and the camera constantly showing them waiting and waiting to get drafted. He shows up with a giant $ symbol necklace and the guy with the ridiculously large hat with the same symbol.
I'm not super old school, by speculating anything by the way he dresses, I don't have to, there's plenty of reports out there about him coming across as an arrogant entitled jerk in meetings with NFL teams. When asked about getting his jersey retired, he said, "he changed the game" really???? How so? He made Colorado a winning culture, really, after one winning season????

It's only bad if he balls out as a Brown. It could also be a blessing because drafting a QB at 33 likely means they don't go QB next year when it's expected the Steelers will want to. We saw how this year worked out, one less team picking QB helps clear the path, give the Steelers less competition if they are drafting QB in rd. 1.

Sheduer ran Pat Shermur's offense the past two years. I'd call that pro-style offense...
