Broderick Jones

Moore stated he couldn't get the kick-out to play RT.
I say Moore also couldn't get the kick-out to play LT.
but somehow Moore was even worse at RT than LT. But was also somehow better at LT than the backups at LT if Jones was kept at RT. and, mind-boggingly, better at LT than the backups were at RT. So odd. Maybe our backup OL is pure ****. Seems that way.

Though with Moore now holding a red cape in Nashville, Jones at LT is going to happen. Hopefully Fautanu can stay healthy at RT. If so, our OL just got better. A LOT better.

Excellent post Supe

I’d like to add in that the sacrifice made in keeping Moore at left tackle didn’t amount to keeping him. Moore didn’t turn into a productive player and actually slid backwards in the process. He is long gone and our “moved up for # 1 pick LT” Developement hindered the whole time.

My thought is he likely now has more starts in the pros at RT then he had at LT in college. So now he is going to have to relearn all the LT footwork. It kinda wreaks of we made a bad pick here on a guy with great physical tools and maybe someone who was able to dominate College level talent. Now we are looking to salvage his substandard play by moving him to his college spot.
The thing with the Jones pick is that everyone knew he was a raw prospect who needed time to develop. I was okay and didn't consider it a failure that he wasn't ready to go day one. The problem is that when he was ready, he should have been inserted at the position he was drafted to play. At the time he came in it was due to Chuks being sat down, and I understand that they didn't want to upset two positions on the line, but the long-term effect was much greater by not inserting Jones at LT. They should have found a RT when Chuks got bounced despite the short-term improvement Jones at RT provided.

But none of this occurred to the bug eyed clown.

Funny my thoughts are the coaching staff **** the bed again.

He stepped in and played LT when short leg turnstile Moore was out and looked pretty damn good…never should’ve been moved out of the spot after that until proven he wasn’t the LT…but alas can’t move short leg turnstile Moore to RT so just **** the bed and **** around with the better asset.

Typical asset mismanagement by this staff.

Maybe now they’ll have no other choice but to make the right play this season.

Leads me to wonder, HAD we taken Creed H. Way back when,,,,,,,,,,,,, would have he been jacked around as such ???

I can see it now, GREEN playing starting center and Creed subbing in at RG………………….

Would’ve loved to see how the “problem” of drafting Creed would’ve resolved itself. It’s ok to not try to make everyone position versatile in n the OL, many would argue it’s actually beneficial and a team only needs 1 of those guys on the roster.

Heck I was clamoring for Creed in the first.
Got really pissed when we skipped him a 2nd time.
But we got a TE that gets some pretty mid numbers so there’s that.

Maybe now with Frazier on the roster we finally have our Center, as much as I wanted him in the draft I was sure he would be Creed ver 2.0…thankfully that was not the case.

It's classic personnel mismanagement by Clown-lin, more of the same. He's obviously never had t switch positions playing on the OL, he thinks it's so easy. Coaching staff has s--- the bed once again.

Cooch I swear you get worse by the year. Same old garbage day after day. You are some kind of oddball mixed with developmentally delayed.

I get the idea of position flexibility, but that just means the likelihood is passable at multiple positions instead of good/great at one. I was a communications electrician in the Navy. I was on a small ship with a smaller crew, so was also required to repair industrial electrical, since I we were trained in basic electrical too. I was never as good at electrical as I was analog electronics, but we did as we were told.

I have as also very much in favor of the C in the 1st that year as it was a much greater need for the long haul. When they took Muth I wasn’t upset, thinking they hat they were going to use him more in the passing game. As it turned out the C was still the better call.

I think Frasier will be solid for the next 10-12 years. By not taking the C years ago they wasted the Harris pick.

Jones has lost some 30 LBs, done so on purpose. It's illegal to post article on it. He's down to 310-ish. Said its to increase speed and movement. Will allow him to play better.

Proof or speculation???

I'm leaning toward the later...

I read of B.Jones weight loss and off season work to do so. That in itself is a huge insight to him wanting to be better and improve on his ability. He is taking this new “promotion” to LT serious. I see him working his asZ off and his attitude being up-graded immensely. His interviews are much better than last season and he is looking hard to the future. Can’t ask for more.

Of course all the above is my personal speculation but then again, I am clairvoyant…….. and dimension prolific.!!!!

Poor management and poor development of young talent.
I think the best move would have been to insert Jones in at LT last season his second year and have traded Dan Moore since he can’t play RT which is pure bs.
I find it hard to believe Moore can’t play RT. It may have been more of he didn’t want to play RT
Jones who had never played RT didn’t ***** about it and tried his best.
Moore was looking down the road at a potential pay day. LTs get paid pretty damn well. Much more than RTs. Selfish I think on Moores’ part.

And who went right along with the charade: Clown-lin. He's been "buddies" with Moore for as long as he was drafted, starting with day 1. And by some miracle, Moore was paid an outrageous amount of $, even though he is consistently on the bottom of LT lists. Incredible that he stole the $ for his play.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

None of us work at the facility. "Finding it hard to believe" is very funny.

Dan Moore Jr. was bad when he was picked and was subpar his whole time here - move on...

Hey, remember a certain likely HOF bound first round pick on DL couldnt start for 3 years because he was stuck behind the ever average Ziggy Hood...
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Damn. I legitimately forgot about that one!
Ever average is a perfect way to describe Hood's play. That dude was extra forgetable for sure. And yet somehow he managed to play in the league for a decade.

who did he steal?

My point being you take a rookie in Jones who never played RT, move him from his natural position of LT and he played ok. Now wouldn’t you expect Moore could at least play RT at least to some degree ok like Jones?
This team is so badly mismanaged and underdeveloped on offense it’s sad.
The defense is sprinkled with stars but is centered around an antiquated system.
Throw in bad DC who wouldn’t even be on another’s teams payroll as a DC and a question mark at OC.
Who knows what we have with Arthur.

It wasn't from lack of effort. I remember him being one of the front runners to from of Steelers strength and conditioning programs and taking his work outs to "off campus" to somewhere with leading edge equipment and training. It didn't help a whole lot as his performance didn't really ever get that good. But his wanting to get real S&C off site told the story. Pgh's on campus S&C was lacking as later player surveys really highlight. Rooneys have never put that much focus on player workouts.

I get it but...

How many people saw our All World OL disintegrate in just two seasons? Yes, it's mediocre to stay just above .500 every season; but the team lost that OL, a HOF QB, world class RB in Bell as well as the most dominant WR in the league for 7 seasons in AB - and yet, they still stand and 'don't get knocked out'.

Now that hibernation season is over, I'll continue my optimistic views hoping that this years' draft class can add some spark and make a difference in the final outcome of the season; perhaps the OL gels as they didn't look horrible as the season ended and there is plenty of new young blood up front.

The biggest question is 'who's the veteran QB'??? I don't like the fact that Coach Tomlin is getting bamboozled from A-A Ron and his camp. I'd move on from the idea today, if it were me in charge...

but the one leg was shorter so the entire Steelers draft plan for 2 years was aborted to accommodate the slightly less able guy.
