Broderick Jones

Moore stated he couldn't get the kick-out to play RT.
I say Moore also couldn't get the kick-out to play LT.
but somehow Moore was even worse at RT than LT. But was also somehow better at LT than the backups at LT if Jones was kept at RT. and, mind-boggingly, better at LT than the backups were at RT. So odd. Maybe our backup OL is pure ****. Seems that way.

Though with Moore now holding a red cape in Nashville, Jones at LT is going to happen. Hopefully Fautanu can stay healthy at RT. If so, our OL just got better. A LOT better.

Excellent post Supe

I’d like to add in that the sacrifice made in keeping Moore at left tackle didn’t amount to keeping him. Moore didn’t turn into a productive player and actually slid backwards in the process. He is long gone and our “moved up for # 1 pick LT” Developement hindered the whole time.

My thought is he likely now has more starts in the pros at RT then he had at LT in college. So now he is going to have to relearn all the LT footwork. It kinda wreaks of we made a bad pick here on a guy with great physical tools and maybe someone who was able to dominate College level talent. Now we are looking to salvage his substandard play by moving him to his college spot.
The thing with the Jones pick is that everyone knew he was a raw prospect who needed time to develop. I was okay and didn't consider it a failure that he wasn't ready to go day one. The problem is that when he was ready, he should have been inserted at the position he was drafted to play. At the time he came in it was due to Chuks being sat down, and I understand that they didn't want to upset two positions on the line, but the long-term effect was much greater by not inserting Jones at LT. They should have found a RT when Chuks got bounced despite the short-term improvement Jones at RT provided.

But none of this occurred to the bug eyed clown.

Funny my thoughts are the coaching staff **** the bed again.

He stepped in and played LT when short leg turnstile Moore was out and looked pretty damn good…never should’ve been moved out of the spot after that until proven he wasn’t the LT…but alas can’t move short leg turnstile Moore to RT so just **** the bed and **** around with the better asset.

Typical asset mismanagement by this staff.

Maybe now they’ll have no other choice but to make the right play this season.

Leads me to wonder, HAD we taken Creed H. Way back when,,,,,,,,,,,,, would have he been jacked around as such ???

I can see it now, GREEN playing starting center and Creed subbing in at RG………………….

Would’ve loved to see how the “problem” of drafting Creed would’ve resolved itself. It’s ok to not try to make everyone position versatile in n the OL, many would argue it’s actually beneficial and a team only needs 1 of those guys on the roster.

Heck I was clamoring for Creed in the first.
Got really pissed when we skipped him a 2nd time.
But we got a TE that gets some pretty mid numbers so there’s that.

Maybe now with Frazier on the roster we finally have our Center, as much as I wanted him in the draft I was sure he would be Creed ver 2.0…thankfully that was not the case.
