The post from shavemegasoline? I'll admit that I don't know him (your poster that is, I know David), merely stating that the post you provided takes things out of context, like much of the internet does.

Are you saying that because the savings are small so far, they should stop looking for them? It's only been 4 months.

I’m saying that because they aren’t going to touch Social Security, Medicare and defense spending, they aren’t going to make serious reductions.

Defense? Absolutely.

They should start making small cuts to SS or, by law, they are going to have to make a 17% cut ten years from now. Or they should increase taxes to cover the shortfall.

Elon exposed the fraud and waste. He doesn't write the bill. Political insiders do that. None of them want to cut the fat because they are benefiting one way or another. Or they are under threat.

Political "aides" are the real worker bees. MTG, AOC, all the rest are just spokespersons/ actors. I'd bet that most aides, R or D, are subject to same threats.

None of them are working FOR the taxpayers. All of them are working for other interests.

I didn't say he wrote anything.

To clarify, I said he got played by Trump, who went along with normal swamp pork in the budget, in spite of Musk's efforts to identify waste and fraud.

That is why Musk is publicly commenting on his frustration, and Trump is quiet with his hands folded hoping this blows over.

Ummm.....which global currencies have outperformed USD?

Maybe the Swiss franc and the Kiwati Dinar.

Oil is priced in USD, and the last two leaders to propose alternatives were dragged thru their streets.

The debt is a **** ton, but your global view seems myopic.

Saw that this morning at the gym. She said “If I knew that was in there I would have voted no.” All I could do was shake my head. A very large and important part of your job is to know what is in the bills you’re voting for. Stupidity runs fast and deep in our government and she is very near the front of the pack.

I doubt AOC knew what's in the bill either, but agree too many votes are cast purely on party lines.
