He many not be worth it, but he was the clear favorite for DPOY at the midway point last year, then he got injured. We aren't winning with him, and we aren't winning without him, so I'll gladly over pay to watch him play his last few seasons. He’s simply not worth that money.
This team is going nowhere so I would think the smart move would be to get the best deal you can for TJ wIth premium picks in the 26 draft.
TJ disappeared toward the later part of last season.
Not saying he’s still not an effective edge rusher but it appears he pointing the other way now.
Not thinking it smart to pay him for his past production but should be looking towards what his future production could be.
We moved on from Hines, Troy, and even Ben although they were older than TJ but edge rushers on the other side of 30 can be risky when you’re paying them.
A trade to a contender helps TJ and helps the Steelers and I’d hate to see him go but it’s business.
And besides, we trade him for draft capital, Tomlin is the one that's in charge of using that draft capital/money saved, it'll just go to waste anyways.
They obviously think they can win now if they waited around for Rodgers, they aren't trading their best player.
