So they do add years before contracts expire now?

Food for thought on those that said tj Watt couldn't have been extended before.

Elliott earned that new contract, good signing
They have always added years to contracts. Not sure who thinks they never do.

One less worry now. Elliot is a solid lock up for the duration of new contract.

Thanks for the find and post slash, appreciate yaz.!

Good thing Watt has one year left on his contract also. There is still time. 🙄

He will sign right before the end of camp. Then win DPoY again.
If we change up our D I guess it could happen. If we run the status quo defense out there......highly doubtful.

Hell, we just need to get some leads, and he wins going away. I think they have made the personnel changes needed if they work out. The philosophy sounds like it will be a bit different as well when they interviewed Austin. I think the Ravens losses lit a fire in him.

Watt will be extended before training camp. Part of the hold up is just negotiations. I think another factor is the Steelers want to factor in how to structure it so the cap hit will work best for them.

I bet they are also waiting to figure in another WR contract.

Some crazy stat…………..

I think he had 111 opportunities to tackle and capitalized on 108,

I’m just going off memory from DK Sports.

Lest we all forget...

This was the first year pairing Elliot and Minkah together.

This moves makes excellent sense for continuity.

And...

TJ will be paid handsomely, IMO, in about a month...

I am not sold on Minkah at this point he very well might be on the decline. But part of it might be the horrific defensive scheme…

Plenty of true football guys I listen too don't think he has declined at all. He has just had to cover for deficiencies at corner and doesn't get targeted all that much. If Slay works out and JpJ improves his flash numbers will improve but he still does all the little things despite not having the ints.

Is the scheme now reduced to flash cards ?
