Happy Juneteenth

Vincent, I'll jump in here.

There is no dispute that the Democratic party, back then, was very anti-Black. I'm not going to get into the nitty gritty but somewhere, in the timeline, they figured out that African-Americans could not be exterminated (completely) so, as the old adage says, "...when in Rome...", so they devised a new plan to lure AAs to support the Democratic party. It really is just that simple.

Most here know my ties to politics and religion and as an ol' school type of guy I stand my ground on my beliefs, but I don't just blindly follow the lead of those whom I support.

Now, let's talk about the holiday in question - Juneteenth. Obviously, even POTUS, has an opinion about the holiday that truly does celebrate the support that Union Army came (to Galveston, TX) to enforce the abolishment of slavery. Freedom. Real freedom. So, I ask, what is the problem with the holiday?

I really don't understand the spin of the author, in the link from the OP, on the KKK. There is NOTHING and I will repeat that, NOTHING, positive about that group regardless of the party and reason why it was born in this country. Shameful. In my opinion, they, then and now, instill terror on AAs---and, if we use the logic from the author, they should be targeting Republican AAs, right???

If the credo is to exterminate Republican AAs - why are AAs, who we know switched their support to the Democratic party, they are still being terrorized by the KKK??? True or false?

While I believe that Juneteenth was established purely for political reasons, I do agree that it should be celebrated. Of course, it does beg the question, what about the atrocities placed upon the American Indian, or the immigrants at the turn of the 20th century, the Italians and Irish? The video shows that games were played to achieve desired results, just as they are today. The last line may be the most telling, "with the passage of time there's only one guarantee and that's things will change." "Pay attention to the policies."

Most of us vote based on policies that we feel are in our best interest and those of our family, it may be somewhat selfish, but it is a reality.

I have my own opinion of Lyndon Johnson and his Great Society and its effects on inner city families, but that's another discussion.

On the LBJ tapes he said "the blacks are gettin' uppity...we got to give them something..we'll have those ••••••• votin' Democrat for the next 200 years.."

The Democrat overlords knew full well they were buying and creating generational loyalty and dependency. Like Trump said in stretching forth his hands "what the hell do you have to lose?" After 60 years of the failed policies.

There is no reason for anyone to question Juneteenth, as there is no reason to question July 4th, which touches ALL Americans..

The OP was ‘why do blacks vote for dims’. As was illustrated in Fractured Realities, people see their own ‘realities’ based on their own experiences.

I watched the video and @2 min I saw a different ‘reality’ from those of the spokespeople. Yes, in 1876 the pubbies made a deal with the devil purportedly to win an election. Shame on them. Well, that certainly hasn’t happened before, or since.

Always ignored in these discussions is the Civil Rights Act of 1875, aka Enforcement Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the four Reconstruction Acts of 1867 and 1868, the three Enforcement Acts of 1870 and 1871, and the three Constitutional Amendments adopted between 1865 and 1870 – all pubbie initiatives, all opposed by the party of satan.

The behavior of the robber barons didn’t eclipse the amendments and laws that were passed. And robber behavior was not focused on black people – it affected all people.

I still don’t understand why black people vote for dims. The 'pubbies switched their support for AAs' is a bull@#$% narrative.

Noted and I tried to answer your question, from my personal reasons - that do align with the authors of the submitted video.

It maybe BS to you, which is fine, but it quite factual in many AA households...

Politics makes strange bedfellows. I don't understand why Jewish people usually vote Democrat.

Berm, do you personally find it offensive when you hear the word "Blacks". As a white guy, it makes me cringe. I don't really care what people call my Caucasian race. Just don't call me late to dinner. I wish we can get past melatonin levels but that'll probably never happen
 
To me, Make America Great Again means our country being able to be totally independent. We'd be able to make everything we need to be comfortable on our own soil without being dependent on other countries. Is that possible, yes if we start working towards that goal.

I also think of a simpler time when you could get stuff done without jumping through a million hoops.
When politicians worked for our best interest, not theirs or special interests

It also means everyone loving their country and respecting one another.

Hey bro, yes, I think that the term "Blacks" is very offensive; but, I have thick skin so it doesn't matter much anymore.

You last sentence is GOLD!

There are so many different 'shades' of black that makes the term offensive to some - still...

Fair question.

In no particular order... Murica first. Enforced borders. Immigration itself needs a 20 year hiatus. Clear out the invaders, allow the legals to assimilate. The original legal immigration process that has worked for centuries. NO 'deficit spending'. Balanced budget. Small, very small balanced budget. Less than a trillion including defense. Gut and rebuild the service academies to produce leaders of a military comprised of hyper-intelligent, über-trained and equipped Schwarzeneggers, who themselves comprise a warrior class, revered by the citizens. No foreign wars – but if it can’t be avoided, NO ‘boots on the ground’. Why did God invent drones? ALL lives matter. No gubmint funded abortion under any circumstances. No Fed. No IRS. Everybody above (say) $30K pays 10% to the feds. No exemptions. No deductions. EPA, depts. of ‘education’, ‘energy’, HUD – poof! Tariff the @#$% out of anything that CAN be manufactured in Murica but ISN'T. Drill. Refine. Export the surplus. Kill the military industrial complex and build better weapons for less money. Kill marxism in its every form, wherever it is found. States - figure it out. Actual education (read: STEM).

I probably forgot several points. I forget things these days.

To me it means common sense, which I know isn't the same for everyone. Equal opportunities for everyone to succeed or fail.
I think Vincent covered it pretty well. The country needs to stop blaming others and take a long look in the mirror.

This seems like a lot.

I zoomed in on the military comments, as a veteran, I'm not so sure any of those requests will happen because "war/deployments bring dollars back home" - albeit in the rich man's pocket, they produce jobs as well.

To me, and I really do believe this, the country is run by elitist and "the plan" has been in place for hundreds of years. MAGA was not a part of it, IMO.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out in 3 - 8 years...

Good man! Absolutely correct in your assessment.

As Ike said in April of 53... 'beware the military industrial establishment'. The MIE is but one element of our actual 'leadership' - oligarchs. That is where the war lies - between the Donald and the oligarchs. They fund the swamp. The face of gubmint, the 'elected', are bought and paid for by the oligarchy. They do the bidding of the very few that own them.

Again, you're correct - it goes back 100s of years. Ask yourself 'what is the tread of continuity' over that span. You may have guessed the dims. They are not alone in their oligarchy - the pubbies have their own. But the dims are the oldest and most entrenched.

Consider this - of the 28 billionaires that 'contributed' more that $1M to the bar fly in 24, 24 are Jewish. 49% of 'public' (read: nickle and dime) 'donations to the dims come from Jews. 26 billionaires funded the Donald, less than half are Jews. Point? The largest block of oligarchs that actually control this Republic are Jewish. Jews comprise .0228571428571429 of the US population.

I've strayed way off point here, but there is a tangential point to be made - as long as über-rich (who refer to AAs as 'schvartzes') run the show, the lot of AAs isn't going to improve. They use AAs as is expedient - witness the George Floyd extravaganza that arguably tilted 2020.
