Cam Heyward wants a new deal

Again, most I'd cave if I were the FO is guaranteeing the rest of his contract, because we are the good guys and he is a captain and legacy player. But new money? No way

If his stance becomes regular season play altering then I will take more offense to it.

For me it doesn’t become irritating until then…

If he misses one minute of regular season playing time because of this,……. Instantly on the trading block.

Get what you can, include his current contract in the trade.

So I am going to build on this. I just got a decent raise about 6 months ago. Kinda lucky as everyone else was told thongs are to tight.
Monday I am going to ask for a raise and see what happens.
No I am not cause I am not greedy

I wear dual thongs, the first one is put on as suppose to be, the second one is put on backward, seems to work more support into the equasion.

And the players should include in the next CBA fully guaranteed contracts. They are idiots for not having done this yet. The owners would absolutely hate it, but no players = no league…so while a short protest lockout would likely happen, the owners would cave as they start losing money.

One way to fix this crap-just call a contract a contract…fully guaranteed for the duration and zero negotiations unless the team offers a raise before the expiration of the contract.

The paper the NFL writes under the guise of calling them “contracts” is a joke.

And Cam is a jackasstronaut for trying this maneuver AFTER taking his 13.75 guaranteed this year.
He said "JACKASSTRONAUT"🤣🤣🤣

I'M STEALING THAT ONE!!!

I welcome our younger generations of Steeler fans and enjoy their posts here,
I just know what our expectations were in the past with always SBs being the goal but now, I don’t know what the hell the goal is.
Appears that sectors of our fans are just content with non losing seasons with unrealistic beliefs of actually being serious contenders for a championship.
I cannot buy into to this and I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel with an owner that I think really does not understand today’s game.
I think Art like his grandfather is a good guy but neither were football men. The real catalyst and football genius was Dan who rescued this franchise from ineptitude and failure and knew to hire the right people.
Which brings me to Hayward! In the past the Steelers would have helped him pack but now they’ll most likely cave into his demand.
He’s another guy like Watt who disappears in December and vanishes in the playoffs.
Who is Hayward???

Your thong is too tight???

Yikes!!!

I don't care one way or another. Comes down to the players and owners working it out in the next CBA. What will the players have to give up to get that though....or will the owners simply hand over that big nugget of leverage?

The 18th game so more money should get it done

Add a 2nd bye week and they could balance the number of games played in a row too.

That doesn't seem like enough to me. Maybe it would be though.

Add in the “Cam(s)” players who are not just asking for raises, but also forcing themselves out to get more money.

Pre-mature contract closure is starting to work both ways. OWNERS are aware as to where this is heading.

Could be the turning point…………..

A-N-D

Guaranteed contracts aren’t that hard, money will be lowered to a degree, but raised for some of the lower paid workers.. There won’t be anymore of the up front guaranteed money either.

I’m for the guaranteed contracts.

Not for players such as Cam trying to renegotiate less than a year later. To much turmoil for the team.

Well that, and the missed revenue from 2-4 games should motivate the owners. The owners will lock the players out (in this scenario) but the players have to be willing to stand their ground…or no meaningful changes will happen. In the past the players union has been short sighted and been the one to cave. Maybe their union leadership and long term planning just sucks.

The players will have to be willing to miss some regular season games and use their leverage to finally get the guaranteed contracts every other major league already has. Without that conviction they just get a sliver more of the pie and meaningless contracts.

Or the owners can say **** you,we will just hire all new players who agree to our terms. Take your union and stick it. Everyone is replaceable and you can damn sure bet thousands of men would be willing to take their place in a heartbeat.

To be honest I'd love to see this entire cash cow get knocked down a few pegs overall. All of these billion dollar stadiums taxpayers foot a large portion of the bill for, insane ticket prices, seat licenses and then get raped over asinine concession prices.

All over a game that means nothing when it really comes down to it. It's a dopamine hit for a few hours.

Player’s association needs to get the “quiet” word out to the players to start planing (set money aside for 1/2 season lock-out).

Player’s association and the3 players themselves would be smart for the early warning.

Believe it or not, the Guaranteed Contracts would also serve towards the “FAN’S” well being. More stable team players & long term contracts means our loved ones will be on the team without the turmoil of contract flutter.

Side Note: The guaranteed contracts will be shorter than today’s contracts but also much easier to negotiate.

Question. Who made this statement when the A A Ron fiasco was going on?

"Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, or you don’t. It’s that simple.”

Maybe they should heed their words.

Real men honor commitments that they make. I have ZERO sympathy for these guys who makes deals then whine about them later. Now if you are at the end of your deal, then by al means negotiations can be done as you like. If you are under contract for X years, then do as you agreed. I feel the same regarding the team management too.

So none of the billionaire owners or multimillionaire coaches and GMS are "real men."

Noted

After watching last nights game the thought occurred to me that perhaps Cam Heyward is making a rukus to secure his younger brother a spot on the team.
