I think fans just care about things that don’t really matter at this point, and it’s fueled by others who don’t really understand the financials behind NFL contracts.

It boils down to one question for me - do you see him as a top 15 DT in the NFL right now?
If you say yes, which most of us will, then he’s underpaid.

The money wouldn’t even be a conversation if the media didn’t want it to be. We wouldn’t even know contract numbers and you wouldn’t care.

And there’s no other free agent that giving him a raise would hinder us from signing.

So in summary, who cares.

How about not acting like a little baby for starters, that's why the fans are pissed.
-They gave him the biggest extension in NFL history for a non QB 31 years or older in 2020.
-He had two sacks in 2023 and was injured and still gave him a 3 year extension last September, even after he mentioned going to play in Cleveland, first time they've ever given a non QB a multi-year extension that was 35+.
-Now he's bitching about not being valued.
-He and his agent F'd up not asking for incentives
-He runs his mouth about Bell and Rodgers, then he turns around and does the same thing.
-Now he's getting team mates to whine for him.

Agreed, everyone wants to be paid fairly, but then don't sign a multi year deal. If he thought he had a lot in the tank, then 1. ask for incentives, 2. don't sign a multi year deal, which he did in case at his age he didn't have it anymore.
I think this wouldn't be nearly as bad if he'd just shut his mouth and quit whining and having team mates whine for him, especially when he's called guys out for this exact thing.

record breaking contracts aren't being signed by 36 year old players. As it was pointed out already, where did he rank after 2023? The season he flat out said "Screw anyone talking about me taking a paycut". Then shortly after that, signed an extension that averaged $14.5m/year. He was valued then, and if he REALLY felt this disrespect, he wouldn't have waited for training camp to pull this nonsense. He's a hypocrite, and that's what the fans are upset over. If he had signed for one year last year, it would be a different story. He could have played out that contract and hit FA and tried to cash in then. But he signed a pretty substantial contract last year...

Hargrave was out of our price range this off season for what they were looking at, and only signed ofr 1/2m more than Cam did, and he's FOUR YEARS younger. Do we have the money? Sure do, does it set a bad precedent to other players? Absolutely...

No, pick a side. You either want everyone to stick to contracts or you don’t. You can’t pick and choose, that’s not how contracts work either.

Heyward got his 2024 money turned into a signing bonus to guarantee it. The next 2 years of said extension included a salary of like 1.5 million.
That’s quite literally a restructuring that just looks different. It almost looks like the Steelers version of void years to me since they don’t use those the way other teams do.

On top of that he even said himself that he told the team he was coming back to the table for more money if he had an all pro season which he did. If the team wasn’t ok with that, they wouldn’t have signed off either.

This to me sounds like the team expected it, can expected it, and my original point - fans are the only ones surprised and blowing this up.

They dont make Cam's game cheque. They will all line up if you give in. And you are not paying for what you got. It's what you think you can get.

I actually think this opens up another conversation which is guaranteed contracts. All other sports do full guarantees, which I believe is coming for the nfl very soon.

Because he is a "Hold-In" does not mean he isn't a distraction.

By bringing these other two players to his pod-cast, he is (whether intentional or not) putting a divide3 in the locker room.

If this persists, I see a trade coming. You can't start a season with a player bringing divide into the team.

Cam or no Cam, that is coming sooner than we think.

I dont think anger can come of that. Honestly the only resolution to this is to open up his snd Bos contracts to insentives. You cannot guarentee more money. It will be endless parade after that. But that could be a possibility. You play top 10. You will be compensated as such.

Using your fellow team members in your own media platform to criticize your team's front office, when they gave you 3 years of more than decent salary for your age, coming from a serious injury and low production season is beyond ungrateful and actually quite disrespectful and unprofessional from a supposed stand up guy and team leader that a few weeks before was criticizing his current QB and future HoF for a similar contractual issue.

So genius, why didn't he play out his contract last year and get that big money you speak of this year?

He signed the extension because he was 35 years old and it was to his benefit to do so. Everyone gets buyers remorse at some time in your life.

This whole thing is just making him look like a 100% grade A jakass hypocrite, talk about tarnishing you reputation in and out of the locker room.
