LMAO, Tomlin with pure comedy.

It’s been going on here for a number of years now and so it continues. As a few others have said here the hiring of incompetent coordinators and position coaches has been the norm and it’s taking its toll.
Tomlin surrounds himself with lackeys, yes men, that won’t challenge him.
Look at the DC Terrell Austin. Do you honestly think another team would employ him as their DC?
He failed miserably in both Detroit and Cincinnati.
Randy Fictner, Matt Canada, Arthur Smith! Are you kidding me!
Fictner was horribly incompetent and Canada, geez, a total embarrassment who may have been the worst OC in history. The bar was so low for Arthur Smith that anything is an improvement. Smith idk what the hell he brings to the team.
Then you have position coaches like Meyer who has no business coaching these OLmen.
One quality that makes a great HC is the ability to surround himself with the best and smartest staff.
He wouldn’t be worried about another of his coaches possibly showing him up. He would want that coach to be successful and be pursued by other teams. Adds to that HCs success and adds to his coaching tree. of which Tomlin has none in nineteen years.
Since Cowhers coaches and coordinators have left Tomlin just keeps adding inept, low quality coaches and the results show.
Look, Tomlin is doing things his way. He shapes the team from roster to coaches. Only one man can overrule him. and that’s Art.
He’s the arson and the fireman. Starts all the fires and gets the hero’s welcome for putting them out,
Same **** new year!

I wouldn’t go that far, but I think the game has passed him by. The minimizing of risk at every turn can have a paralyzing effect on a team and I think has led to some of the playoff choke jobs. You do anything scared and looking over your shoulder, you’re not likely to succeed.

Switzer and Seifert both inherited great teams that then won another SB, I don’t hold that against Tomlin. It’s not like he went 7-9 with those great teams.
seifert was the defensive coordinator under Walsh so he was already in the organization.

He was asked this morning about Thornill's quote saying we can be one of the best defenses of all time.

Tomlin said, "we have the talent and we have the schematics, to do big big things, and by big things I mean historical things"

HAHAHA, like are we going to give up 50 points and 400 yards rushing in the next playoff game???

WTF is he talking about, I'm guessing he wasn't paying attention last December and in the playoffs, when he didn't know Pickens showed up 2 hours late to the KC game.

Schematics??????? Does he really believe what he's saying?
Wonder what Tomlin will say now? Assignments were missed. Execution was below the standard. We have to change the climate.

Tomlin? Do tell....please. Inquiring minds want to know?

Here you go; no need to wait til Tuesday presser:

"We needed to," Tomlin. "You play today and you evaluate tomorrow. The game is not always going to go the way that you like. When you start measuring it in the midst of play, you do not have enough energy or gas to do what you suggested."

WTF?

and

"That is what I liked about it," Tomlin said. "Do I like how we played? Do I like our inability to stop the run? No. But I did love our mindset. Our mindset showed that we were game for the fight. We were not measuring it today; we were playing and playing to win. When you do those things, you have enough gas in the tank to finish it in the end."

Holy **** this is obtuse at a new level.

Coach thesaurus, at least his pressers are livelier than his game day brain waves.
