On to the Seachickens - week 2 pregame Seattle at Pittsburgh

Roman wilson was only on the field for 10 offensive snaps. 3rd wrs dont see the field much in arthur smiths offense

So why exactly would you want a 31 year old, small, expensive speedster? Hill is a fancy name, but his kind of WR doesn't have a long shelf life

And Austin had a top 25 day on Sunday... you would be giving up assets and cap space for basically the same style of player, just older
I don't think Tyreek and CA3 are the same type of WR.

Fast as heck - yes but Tyreek has that AB-type of separation ability. That's the bonus bringing him aboard. His legal ramifications scare me but if there is one coach would can control his antics - well, that's Coach Tomlin. And we've seen how he and the FO have been of late - ride or die...

I have high hopes for Roman but the kid can't get in the field of he's not making plays against the 1s.

Go get Tyreek and throw all the chips on the table. (I have no idea how to play poker but that sounded impressive, in my head, as I typed it)...

You already have a legit #2, is Jonnu Smith
I slightly agree but picture DK, Tyreek AND, Jonnu + Muth.

None of these guys can be doubled covered if they're on the field at the same time. With A-A Ron's rapid fire release - yikes!!!

I like the idea of leaking big Washington out (late) after pass pro on Jones' side...

This is a pipe dream of course.

They need to address the Jones issue with urgency or they won't have Rodgers playing for much longer.

Oddly enough, I watched the highlights of the Bears vs Vikings game and both teams used a tight end to chip the Edge rusher to help the Tackle out on the deeper down and distance plays. That could be all it takes to give Jones the needed help he so badly needs. I was pretty hard on him on Monday here in my assessment of the game, but then I had to remind myself that he's back to year one of being a Left Tackle after MT had him learn the Right Tackle spot the last two years. Maybe the Lad needs a little time to get things pulled together.

That's it. My fear is when we meet up with teams that have good man DBs we will be putting Rodgers in a bad spot. Take away DK, stop our weak run game(If it doesn't improve a whole bunch) and we are dead in the water. Hill changes that whole dynamic.

You mean a good man DB like Sauce Gardner?

He shadowed DK most of the game and the offense still put up the most points we’ve seen in awhile with zero run game. The Steelers just put up a large total vs your biggest concern.

That is the benefit of a QB with field vision and anticipation to throw guys open. Rodgers simply got every other receiving option involved as well…well except for Roman Wilson who was invisible yet again (granted he only played a limited number of snaps). Skowronek also played a limited number like Roman did but had a huge impact on that victory.

Both LOS units are my biggest concern at this point. The OL allowed pressure & couldn’t open holes for the run game and the DL played on roller skates. Putting it nicely, a less than ideal start for both units. They’ve got some growth opportunities they’ve been presented with.

Is there anyone else available beside Hill.?

Like your “poker” analogy.

No disrespect to Sauce, even though I think he's more hype than lock down DB; but...

He's really the only DB on the Jets. There are quite a few teams that have multiple good/very good DBs and that will eliminate DK - if the team doesn't have a real #2 to drawn attention from DK.

The only option the Steelers have is to scheme guys like Austin, Wilson, and Skowronek open, much like they did against the Jets. Getting a true #2 WR has been a problem for the great Khan, for some damn reason.

IMO - no one like Tyreek, if the team can get past his legal issues; but, I wouldn't touch him until I know he's in the clear there. IF he is - we have multiple 3rd round picks next year (I'd use one and get Mr. Hill)...

Then why did they trade Pickens?
I think the Steelers FO -- maybe Dookie has a bit of spine -- said no more WR divas?

(Peppy is DB with issues lol)

I'm expecting a much better performance from the defense, I'm less optimistic about the LT problem. If they can limit the Seahawks to 2 sacks or less, I like a Steelers win.

If BJ is as bad as people believe he is they might as well get on the waiver wire.

People just like brand names... does anyone really think Hill would be happy coming here to get at best 70-80% of snaps in a run first O?

I mean they want superstars at every position.. its idiotic. You win by getting top production out of cheap guys at high end positions...

That would take higher coaching than what we appear to have.

Our HC is extremely flawed in this respects as he can’t seem to bring anyone in who may out-shine him.

You can win SBs both ways. Buccaneers and Rams support the superstars at every position argument and eagles and chiefs support your latter argument...and yes I do believe hill would be happy here. I think his goal is to win moreso then make money at this point. Even more important than that he needs a new start somewhere other then where hes at.

They should of worked Washington more at tackle at camp and pre-season.....especially after trading for Jonnu...

I truly believe he would be a significant upgrade despite his inexperience at the position...But its probably too late now to try that transition..

You dont do it now with a pair of 41 year old legs under center,,,

The man was even open to the idea of the position change at one point..
