Sen. Bernie Sanders Running For Prez

Sanders is a prime example of what is wrong in Washington. He's been there way too long, and is out of touch with reality. No thanks.

They are all way out of touch with reality.. What the country needs is a regular joe running for president, but we all know that will never happen. I don't know much about sanders, but he looks like he is close to being in the looney bin. I do not care who wins as long as it is not hillary. I hope whoever runs against her has the balls to slam her about her past troubles. I don't understand how the whole email thing just got swept under the rug...

Because she's Hildebeast. A lot of the media doesn't really like her but it's important to elect the First Woman President, as long as she's a Democrat, and that trumps anything and everything else.
The media will back the worst Democrat 110% over the best Republican.

At least he's willing to actually talk about the corruption that exists in Washington and how the government no longer works for the average American citizen. He's the only politician I've ever heard freely admit that the governing body, of which he is a member, is completely beholden to Wall St. and other corporations. I've even heard him go as far as to say that we no longer live in a democracy, but rather a plutocracy... where our elected officials are basically puppets of the mega rich.

That oughta help with his fundraising.

Vermonters tend to be a bit different and Sanders represents them well. He doesn't have a chance at winning, but its good he's running because
certain issues would not get talked about unless he brings them up.

Crap, that's twice already today that I've agreed with 21.

Sanders isn't as dumb as Ralph Nader. Nader is really the one we should blame for the Iraq war and mess in Middle East.

Okay I'll bite. Why exactly is this Corvair Ralph's fault?

uh-oh!

Bernie Sanders, Gun Nut

He supported the most reprehensible pro-gun legislation in recent memory.

When Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders jumped into the 2016 presidential race, he was widely hailed as a far-left socialist who would appeal to the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. A liberal challenge to Hillary Clinton, said Politico. True progressives’ liberal alternative'

But before liberal Democrats flock to Sanders, they should remember that the Vermont senator stands firmly to Clinton’s right on one issue of overwhelming importance to the Democratic base: gun control. During his time in Congress, Sanders opposed several moderate gun control bills

Sanders, an economic populist and middle-class pugilist, doesn’t talk much about guns on the campaign trail. But his voting record paints the picture of a legislator who is both skeptical of gun control and invested in the interests of gun owners—and manufacturers. In 1993, then-Rep. Sanders voted against the Brady Act, which mandated federal background checks for gun purchasers and restricted felons’ access to firearms. As a senator, Sanders supported bills to allow firearms in checked bags on Amtrak trains and block funding to any foreign aid organization that registered or taxed Americans’ guns.

Sanders is dubious that gun control could help prevent gun violence, telling one interviewer after Sandy Hook that “if you passed the strongest gun control legislation tomorrow, I don’t think it will have a profound effect on the tragedies we have seen."

Hillary's attack machine out to smear him already?

"We need to fix our dysfunctional political system and get unaccountable money out of it once and for all—even if it takes a constitutional amendment.”

"Unaccountable money"? What's that exactly? Usually means "money from people I don't agree with". This is the problem with all campaign finance reform,. Ultimately it always comes down to restricting one entity's freedom of expression in favor of others.

It means we need a Constitutional amendment to reverse the SC's Citizens United decision.

KDKA just reporting that Rick Santorum will announce his candidacy for President next week.
Oh God no, as much as I'd like a yinzer in the White House, he's the type that makes Republicans look bad.

I still hold to my Libertarian upbringing and ideals.

but no chance they ever get applied.

so...if we're gonna have Socialism, which we already do, I'd rather socialism for people, rather than corporations...and Socialism that benefits the 99%, rather than the 1%.

run, Bernie, run, indeed.

Yeah, Socialism will just change who the elites are and, probably, not by a lot.

But, of course, if there is a THEY in charge, it changes nothing other than the window dressing and THEY still keep us divided with talking points lIke the 99%'ers vs. 1%'ers.
