College Football Week 6

7 Penn State at UCLA 3:30 CBS PSU -24.5
UCLA fired OC Tino Sunseri (former Pitt QB) on Tuesday and promoted the son of Jerry Neuheisel. UCLA is a dumpster fire.

PSU LB Tony Rojas suffered a "long term injury". They didn't specify further but he's likely done for the year. Penn State is thin at LB. They'll likely need a freshman to step up and provide depth.

Penn State, once again, thought they could beat a top team with a high school passing scheme. Franklin said in his press conference that they have to change the offense to add some quick and easy throws. The ones every other offense has except this one.

Why does Franklin always talk about things he WANTS the offense to do? How about you actually do those things? Most Penn State fans assumed there was more to the passing offense. Franklin watched the practices. He was in the meetings. He knew that weak sauce was the plan and thought it would work.

Penn State DC Jim Knowles owed Any Kotalnicki every time they faced off. lasy year at OSU, Knowles used a cover 2 sheel with a 3rd safety playing like a MLB. Oregon copied that and used to to shut down Penn State. In effect, Jim Knowles beat Andy Kotalkicki yet again.

The OL was supposed to be a strength for Penn State. It has struggled. They need to get this solved if they want to stand a chance vs Ohio State later.

Penn State could probably run for 300 yards and come home with a win. But they better work on the passing game. You can't change an offense in a week so I'm not expecting huge changes. How about just some throws without a slow play fake where the ball can come out quickly?

Wisconsin at 20 Michigan 12:00 BTN ill -9.5
Wisconsin sucks. They'll get worse too. Apparently their NIL situation is a nightmare. Those in charge think you can win without spending money. Wisky does have the #1 rush defense though so maybe this is a close and very boring game.

Clemson at North Carolina 12:00 ESPN Clem -14.5
this is the train wreck bowl. Clemson was a trendy pick to win it all and now they have 3 losses. UNC is most known for Belichick's girfriend. Clemson needs to blow out UNC to try to stop their program slide.

14 Iowa State at Cincinnati 12:00 ESPN2 Cin -1.5
Indiana coach Curt Cignetti was interviewed for the Cincy job before Indiana. The Cincy Athletic Director said, No thanks. They wanted a coach with FBS coaching experience. Great call.

9 Texas at Florida 3:30 ESPN Tex -4.5
The Texas offense has not been good except against Sam Houston. Florida's offense stinks but their defense is outstanding. Texas can't afford to lose this game and get loss 2 so early in the season with games vs Oklahoma (minus Mateer), Vandy, Georgia, and Tex A&M still yet to play.

16 Vanderbilt at 10 Alabama 3:30 ABC Ala -10.5
Bama seems to have turned things around after their early season debacle vs Florida State. Is Vandy for real? They're unbeaten but their only decent opponent was South Carolina and they're struggling. We'll find out if Vandy is for real with a 4 game stretch of Bama, LSU, Missouri and Texas.

Washington at Maryland 3:30 BTN Wash -6.5
This could be a really entertaining game. I have a feeling that Tex vs Florida will be boring as hell, and the Bama and ND games could be blowouts. Wash put up a good fight vs Ohio State last week but couldn't crack the OSU defense. Maryland is 4-0 but haven't played anybody good yet.

Boise State at 21 Notre Dame 3:30 NBC ND -20.5

every game is a must win for ND the rest of the way. Boise has the 9th overall offense in the nation and ND's defense is ranked 95th. Boise hasn't played anybody though. I doubt Boise can stop the ND offense.

11 Texas Tech at Houston 7:00 ESPN TT -11.5

Tech spent a lot of NIL money to bring in new starters and it's paid off so far. Houston pulled out a late win vs winless Oregon State last week. They may not be able to keep pace with the Tech offense.

3 Miami at 18 Florida State 7:30 ABC Miami -4.5
Last renked opponent for Miami this year. Win this and they are a near lock for the ACC title game and a likely playoff bye. It's also the last ranked opponent for FSU but they do have Florida later and that will be tough. If FSU loses this one, it would be a 2nd conference loss and hurt their ACC chances. It would also make all remaining games a must win for the playoffs.

Miss State at 6 Texas A&M 7:30 SECN TAM -15.5
Tex A&M is ranked 6 but looks shaky. They had an unlikely comeback vs Notre Dame, then last week they had to hand on to beat Auburn. Miss State lost in OT to Tennessee last week. Tex A&M QB Marcel Reese is really streaky.

Something's fishy about that Iowa State line.

The Vanderbilt QB, Diego Pavia, said that if his team plays their game, it won't even be close. Against Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Dude's just a little bit cocky.

This sums up football now. Money wins.

If we lose to Vandy 2 years in a row (and at home) none of my spare TVs are safe tomorrow afternoon - not one!!!

Is a Vandy winning streak vs Bama really a possibility?

Gotta say how can you not be impressed by Diego? He’s no Ty Simpson, but man that kid has the intangibles ya love to see in a team leader.

berm, take a deep breath and exhale slowly ……….. close your eyes and think of the music played in “The Sound of Music”. That will slow your heart rate and give a spare minute or two to make sure you are smashing the lower cost TV first.

Salute the nation

yes it does

the facility was needed but blocking the view could have been avoided

Penn State had a similar situation. The stadium did not used to have upper decks. There was complaints that the upper deck would block the view of Mount Nittany. But money wins. BTW, that's why their mountain lion mascot is called the Nittany Lion.

I can like him when he's not playing against us. Today, I hope he plays like Landry Jones...

I predict the Alabama/Vandy game goes into 5 overtimes. And the the winner will be........
