I think I'm hoping they hire Shula, but also hire Scheelhaase as the OC. They both come from the McVay tree and would probably be a solid combo.
I don't know if Scheelhaase is seasoned enough yet to be the HC. I think teams are checking him out to consider him for the HC position, but realistically evaluating him for the OC job.
Did he actually say he's not interested in former head coaches? He's bringing in Brian Flores to interview for the HC position. Maybe he's talking about old (as in age) former head coaches?Has Rooney said why he isn’t interested in former head coaches? Five head coaches have won Super Bowls with their second team.
That's the plus and downside of bringing in top talent. You know they won't be around long, but you are not afraid to bring in people that won't be around long, or might even be better than you are, because of the help they will offer the team while there. This was my initial thought and hope.
But if Scheelhaase is getting HC interviews from multiple teams at this point, it’s now or never.
He’ll get a HC job sooner than later, so if they like him they’ll have to pull the trigger.
If not, I like this idea. But we’ll likely be looking for another OC in the next cycle.
I think he basically does what he thinks Dan did without knowing why he did it...Has Rooney said why he isn’t interested in former head coaches? Five head coaches have won Super Bowls with their second team.
If Terrible Austin is here next year in ANY capacity, including men's room attendant, I will lose my ****!
K. K. k. Not sure about this. Something is saying no.Klint. Klay. We have Keeanu. Hopefully keep Kenneth. Kyle.
We could be the Killer Ks.
It's Friday ... I'm bored.
Forgot Flores was HC in Miami. Wondering why not Stefanski?Did he actually say he's not interested in former head coaches? He's bringing in Brian Flores to interview for the HC position. Maybe he's talking about old (as in age) former head coaches?
They’re already the Killer H’sKlint. Klay. We have Keeanu. Hopefully keep Kenneth. Kyle.

Because he sucks.Forgot Flores was HC in Miami. Wondering why not Stefanski?
Hope they at least interview StefanskiForgot Flores was HC in Miami. Wondering why not Stefanski?
My feeling as well.My uneducated guess is Shula is very high on the list. They're bringing in Scheelhaase in hopes that Shula will bring him along as OC and they want to get a feel for him.
Every who goes to Cleveland sucks.Because he sucks.
All I'm saying is how do we know thar he hasn't learned from his previous experiences...No I do not. what makes you think he would be any better than Mike Tomlin was? seriously what has he done to make you think he would be the guy to turn this team around.
His head coaching with the Phines was. 5-11, 10-6 and 9-8 where do you get the idea he would be a good head coach, especially with a team that is already use to mediocrity. we need a coach that will turn things around and get this team back on course, someone that won't put up with the bullshit we have dealt with for years with these players.
Like I said as DC yes as head coach we will be in another 19 years of the same **** we just got out of. He is not even Mike Tomlin let alone Bill Cowher or Chuck Noll.
Good point. I haven’t heard any negatives since Miami. All I'm saying is how do we know thar he hasn't learned from his previous experiences...
People forget the advantage of that 1 year he was in the building. If he was an *** or a problem during that time, they wouldn't be interviewing him now.Good point. I haven’t heard any negatives since Miami.
Obviously the Steelers have some interest with the interview request.
what did you see cleveland offense do in the last 5 years?Forgot Flores was HC in Miami. Wondering why not Stefanski?
for defensive coordinator.People forget the advantage of that 1 year he was in the building. If he was an *** or a problem during that time, they wouldn't be interviewing him now.
Also, when he was here, the very people who are saying "no way" now were calling for him to replace Tomlin.
To be fair most were saying to replace our DC. With perhaps a HC grooming/look in the future depending on his success/ fit. And it’s too bad they didn’t do that. It was the perfect move at the time. I quite believe it was just another time when the serious fan base was correct.People forget the advantage of that 1 year he was in the building. If he was an *** or a problem during that time, they wouldn't be interviewing him now.

Which brings me back to the current candidates...People forget the advantage of that 1 year he was in the building. If he was an *** or a problem during that time, they wouldn't be interviewing him now.

If Mike LaFleur gets a HC job, and Scheelhaase doesn't, I imagine Scheelhaase will be promoted to the Rams OC position (or poached by LaFleur to be OC where LaFleur goes), and therefore won't be available for the Steelers (or any other team) OC job.I think I'm hoping they hire Shula, but also hire Scheelhaase as the OC. They both come from the McVay tree and would probably be a solid combo.

Two time COYwhat did you see cleveland offense do in the last 5 years?
just to be clear I was not one of those peoplePeople forget the advantage of that 1 year he was in the building. If he was an *** or a problem during that time, they wouldn't be interviewing him now.

I don't know Berm. All I have to go on is his three years as head coach of Miami. (as far as head coaching). Looking at that body of work it sure looks a lot like the coach that just left. Look I did not hate Mike Tomlin I was just tired of finishing with the same record or close to the same record year after year. With the way the steelers hang onto coaches for ******* ever I would just like all the stones turned over. I also just think there are better candidates out there., and its the damn Steelers we should have the pick of whoever is the brightest shinning star. All I'm saying is how do we know thar he hasn't learned from his previous experiences...
