I think the main difference was $$. Darnold is making a crap ton of money compared to Rodgers. If we paid 30+ million for darnold and he stunk the fan base would melt down. Minn must not have been convinced if they didn't resign him.

How do you know the Steelers didn't make an attempt to sign Darnold? And, even if the Steelers didn't why would Darnold have chosen Steelers over Seattle if the Steelers did try to sign him?

They said they made an offer. I have no idea if he simply didn’t want to come here. What I do know is that he signed a very average contract for a starting QB. I doubt the Steelers offered more than Seattle,but I don’t know that. I bet if they showed a ton of interest,wined and dined him and offered a couple million more than Seattle he might have came here.
I also know that we have paid peanuts compared to other teams for our last 6 starting QB’s. Trubisky,Rudolph,Rodgers,Pickett,Wilson,Fields. Which leads me to believe they were cheap with their offer.

I don't really have a strong preference honestly, but Tyler Higbee played at my alma mater. I also kinda like Stafford. That said, it's hard not to like Darnold and I like Kenneth Walker also. I got to watch him play at Michigan State.

Darnold would've been seeing ghosts in Pittsburgh. He made the correct decision.
