And old Three Rivers Stadium. I can still feel the vibe of game day there and the smell of the atmosphere. (and I ain't talking about the smells coming out of the outdated and crowded bathrooms). It felt like football. I like Heinz/Acrisure, but there was a vibe that Three Rivers had that the current place can't quite recapture.Thank you for sharing this. What an awesome trip down memory lane. Hearing the late, great, Myron Cope calling the game gave me chills.
Also, 80-85% of those highlights would be NFL penalties and fines today.![]()
Oh, I agree. You could smell all the spilled Iron City over the last 30 years and it had aura about it that I just can't describe. And old Three Rivers Stadium. Noll's final year was my first year going to every game. Three Rivers did have a different vibe. Walking through the parking lots for a playoff game and smelling all the tailgates was something else. Luckily, Heinz Field has a good aura around it as well. The great players, teams, games, and moments is what makes a stadium what it is. Playing outdoors is a differencemaker as well, especially with all these sterile domes being constructed. And old Three Rivers Stadium.
