I'll say this. With every day that passes, it is becoming clear to me that there are two versions of America that I don't want to live in. Sucks because I'm old with limited options. It's sad that we have backed ourselves into such a corner that all we have to choose from is Republicans and Democrats. We really need a viable third party.

I don't think it boils down to political parties at all. It boils down to common decency, a shared idea of American foundational tenets of democracy, the Rule of Law, the Constitution, the separation of powers. The notion that we can agree to disagree. That the core structure of the Republic is sacred, the pillars of governance unflappable... that every four years we'll elect a government that may lean a little left, or a little right, but that the vision of America, and what it stands for, is set in stone. That the Constitution provides everyone their right to Free Speech, their Right of Assembly.

For instance, you can be for strong border control and immigration policy, and at the same time stand and protest against ICE stepping over the line, brutalizing local communities, attacking Americans protesting. You can be for tariffs, and a strong, America-first economic policy, without attacking, insulting, and demeaning our allies. You can exert pressure and achieve your goals within NATO, while maintaining good relations with partner countries. You can champion American ideals, without dragging down other nations.

You can demand and hold elected officials accountable from the opposing party, then double-down and do the same with the party you support.

It seems we've lost our way, amidst all the duplicity and mudslinging. Us against them. The fact anyone who is opposed to Trump is called a "communist" and "anti-American" is exhibit A of this phenomena. In the end, we are all Americans, blacks, whites, Hispanic, Asian. We're all Americans, even those with funny names, like mine, and those from 1st and 2nd generation immigrant families, who have become citizens.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. That's the underlying concept of America, as expressed by our founders, who traveled here from a foreign land, seeking freedom and prosperity. I'm not willing to cede the Republic to those wishing to tear it down by scapegoating others. So many have died for this flag, for this nation, fighting for the very principles that we take for granted. The ability to speak up, criticize the government, assemble at will, yes, carry arms, and worship whatever God or religion you choose, or none at all. This is what makes America great. It doesn't need to be made great again.. it's great as it is. It is we, everyday people and citizens, that need to up our game, and stop succumbing to the myth and fantasy that everything will be solved for us, top-down, from those we elect to office.

I'm glad the Seahawks beat the crap out of the Pats. The sun shall rise again in the morning. The dust will settle. It does seem strange to me what political theater even the Super Bowl halftime show has become. Perhaps someday, we can just sit back and enjoy it, or hate it, on its own merit.

I didn’t watch Kid Rock. I watched Bad Bunny. I won’t ***** about something I didn’t actually watch. I didn’t like it from a pure musical standpoint. I am also not a huge Country fan so I didn’t feel the need to switch. Most of what I listen to was written between the early 60’s and the mid 90’s. I prefer the 60’s protest music to the crap from today. The classic liberals made far better music.

Well, the Bad Bunny show was like Wednesday night at Paradise del Sol 4.5 star almost new hotel with the "Local Culture" night with colors, people, bands, some dancing, lots of props, some cameos featuring the good looking ones, big Latino musica sounds, etc.

The toddlers love the festivity, colors and noise, the grade school kids are enraptured by their first live show, the Moms can have a couple drinks because the kids are busy, and the teens are with dad at the all inclusive bar on the other side of the property because Mom is occupied.

I can get on board with a lot of this. You seem to have left out the vitriol from the left that has been assaulting us on the right, for a very long time. For too long, those of us on the right lost the public forum on this due to pressure, labeling, etc., but now that has changed. So, we are called homophobic, racist, etc. It's lame. The labels are used to group accuse us of bad things that are not real. I mean, if everyone is a racist, no one is. But, the left decided that old white people are the deciders of what is racist, excluding any democrat from guilt, yet the dems are the party of racism all throughout history. But, we have to just be quiet and get kicked by the left and it's media. I will not. I will do my best to make it loud as a gentleman, Christian, kind person, but I will be loud. I reject the idea that wanting closed borders is racist. There are other examples of this, but will not bother with a list for this for now.

I have been open about my strong desire for Trump to grow up in his memes and such, but if that is what the critics are mad at, they too need to grow up. We have put up with much more nonsense from the left than that.

It's interesting you mention the rule of law. Seems no one in government has to really follow the law. Like the way states like New York, California, Virginia, Minnesota and others just feel like they don't have to follow federal immigration law. In fact, they feel as though they can take federal tax dollars and use them to undermine the law.

See we are going to disagree here. IF ICE stepped over the line, it is because protestors stepped over the line. You act like ICE just rolled into neighborhoods and started night sticking people just because. If an apprehension or arrest is underway, as a protestor, it is against the law for you to interfere. You cannot inject yourself into that situation. And when you are making physical contact with agents AFTER you have been told multiple times to stay back, you get what you get. You asked for it. I don't believe either of those people should have been shot, but if you don't hit an agent with your car after blocking them from driving down the street, or you don't damage an agency vehicle and then spit on agents while carrying a gun the likelihood of being shot goes WAY down. The people on those streets have to bear at least some responsibility for the stuff that happens when they interfere. The right to assemble does not come with the freedom to threaten and attempt to physically harm agents because you disagree with what they are doing. And the right to assemble does not come with a free pass to act any way you want and expect little or no repercussions.

As far as our NATO dependents allies, the whole contention with them is that they run welfare states while failing to meet their obligations to NATO. I mean why not, right? Just allow the US to spend themselves into oblivion. The US pretty much pays for their defense, and has sacrificed treasure and lives to the point that there wouldn't even be a Europe anymore if not for us. And having been to Europe recently, their armies are in tatters for the most part. France, Germany, to a lesser extent England. All of the Eastern European Armies are laughably weak. Why? Because we fed the animals. And when you feed they animals the become dependent. NATO needed to be scolded. Maybe not disparaged, but definitely scolded.

And don't get me started on the tariffs. Disaster from the word go. Targeted tariffs were the way to go, not blanket tariffs.

Tibs, I fought for this country. I wasn't fighting for any principles. I was fighting because I took an oath, some politicians made me go to a 3rd world shiithole and some ******** were trying to kill me. Nobody was in Afghanistan or Iraq talking about principles. What exactly did you think the Republicans beginning to fight back would look like? Even now with Trump, who is an absolute political brawler too many of the GOPe seek to counter democrat attacks with strong strongly worded letters and pearl clutching. You cannot “just get along with” with communists who would send you to a gulag or put you up against the wall in front of a firing squad. You need to come to grips with the fact that the people on the right are simply American patriots who are just barely beginning to counterpunch against the Democrats, who have gone full communist.

Does this really bother anybody? I mean, really? I didn't watch the halftime show because I was in bed, but I've seen this all over social media today, followed mostly by outrage. I think it's ridiculous yet hilarious. The stuff that riles people up these days.

It will happen when performers and/or celebrities remove their political agenda, or opinions out of their performances, late night talk shows, award shows, podcast,and other media related statements.

We won’t be able to judge entertainers on their merits until they start focusing on entertaining again.
