Ben attacked verbally by Joey Porter Sr. Where is Coryea?

****-ing Cam, right in the middle of this bull-****.

He’s not a ****-ing leader, he’s a cancer and trouble.

That podcast has changed everything with Cam. Why these guys can’t wait till their football careers are over is beyond me. Obviously it’s his right to do it,but it creates nothing but dissent.

As far as Joey. He’s always had a big ******* mouth. So this is not surprising. Loved him on the field of play.
Me,Me,Me. It’s all about me. He fits right into today’s generation. Old guy trying hard to stay relevant.

His son will sign a contract that will dwarf anything Joey SR made in his career. And I’m quite sure Joey SR is envious as he spends the rest of his days looking for likes on some stupid FB page. STFU Joseph SR,and let the spotlight be on your son. Where it now belongs. Mann oh Mann.

As far as Ben. There’s no doubt in my mind he was an a-hole the first third or so of his career. That being said……I’m a bit of an a-hole too. Give me that fame and fortune at that young age,and only the man upstairs knows what I would have done. We’re human. Mistakes are made. And then guess what? Some of us grow the **** up. Which is what Ben did. A good women and children make a difference.

Interestingly after listening to Ben’s podcast I feel like I’ve got to know the person so much more than during his playing career.
He’s a stand up guy now and deserves credit for it. Sure he can be a little arrogant ,as most upper tier athletes can be. We all know people that never change or grow up.

Not a big deal whoever agrees with Peezy it is just that they need to air crap out as if it needed validation. Everyone knew Ben started out like an arse but straightened himself out eventually . So pointless to bring up the past just because they can.

Porter really trashed Ben calling him a bad teammate that wasn’t liked in the locker room.
Said he wasn’t a team player!
Porter is really attacking Ben’s character which I hope this crap doesn’t influence HOF voters next year.
Where the hell is Coryea when ya need him?
Nothing we didn't already know. Peezy is entitled to his opinion but since he lost his coaching job with the Steelers after a number of off-duty incidents involving alcohol, maybe he should sit this one out.

Tomlin either fired coach porter or didn't resign him not sure which

And he waited till Tomlin left before saying he wanted to come back and coach.
Maybe my memory is jacked on this.
Porter the player was simply a salary cap casualty. He was released and signed by the Dolphins.
Porter the coach was essentially fired. He was in the last year of his contract in 2019 and his contract was not renewed after a number of off-duty incidents involving alcohol.

BullShit.

A bad teammate starts fights at the 50 yard line and gets himself kicked out of a key divison game prior to it even starting.

A bad teammate gets shot in Denver out all night clubbing.

A Bad teammate cheap shots punters and gets his team penalized.

And who the **** are these ex teammates coming out of the woodwork?

Mike Adams- Take another toke big guy.

Kendrick Green- On his *** again.

Patrick Queen??!!?- Never played with Ben and should hang out with Mike Adams and learn how to wrap a joint so that maybe he will start wrapping up on the field. Douchebag.

Ben admitted to being a bad teammate early on. Later Ben didn't like when the team made draft picks that didn't help the team win now (ex. Rudolph, Green moving from guard to center). Over the years he had outings with linemen and other teammates such as James Conner, JuJu, Switzer and some others. I think he was particularly tight with several guys on the team such as Keisel, Pouncey, Miller, Harrison and some others. On top of his early career issues, if I had to guess, he probably big-timed a lot of those bench guys and Roethlisberger has always been a target for the media, so he's an easy target for former players as well.

Again, whatever. If not for his play, the Steelers would still be sitting on 4 Super Bowls.

Yep, he's a big **** stirrer whiner for the past 4 or 5 years, constantly bitching about not being ranked high enough in someone's online list. The entire contract things, after the Steelers showed faith and extended him after an injury plagued season.

So Adams and Pornstache agree with Porter. Adams who tested positive for weed at the combine, and Rudolph who said he didn't need any help from Ben, that's not Ben's job to teach him after he was drafted, but Ben's the bad guy there because Ben did exactly what Rudolph said.
Even AB came out and said Ben was a good teammate.
Dorin Dickerson said the biggest myth in pro sports is thinking that everyone likes everyone on a team, he said that's not even close to true.

Again what started all of this all of sudden, everything was good at the Hall of Honor ceremony? Ben has been pretty complimentary of Tomlin, saying he could win a nation title if he went to the College ranks.

I'm thinking Cam is a bit of a rat here, stirring the pot.

It's jealousy, plain and simple. That was a pretty talented team Ben came to in 2004 but couldn't get it done. He comes in as a rookie, and by mid-season there was a banner up with him and saying "Godsend." I remember seeing that wondering if that would knock a nose ot two outta joint. There were some pretty strong personalities on that team.
Ben though, it had to be an interesting situation to navigate. Coming into the locker room with those personalities, small school, rookie, white, savior. I'm sure he was a pain in the asss at times. So many great players are. But he navigated it, won 2 Super Bowls, became a HOFer and learned how to be a good teammate. Shouldn't that be admired?

You wonder if Cam has an eye on life after football. Make himself attractive to ESPN or whatever for one of their myriad of dumb shows.

Have some players coming to Ben’s defense so not all prickly thorn encounters. (448 posted)

Which is pretty much how it usually is some like you some dislike you.

Doesn’t matter how we start for the most part but more so how we finish.

I am not sure why. Tomlin is the coach that went with Harrison and not porter.

Maybe my memory is jacked on this.

I am a 70s kid. Grew up in awe of those teams. Met lambert, Green and Blount when I was 10.

It took me forever to admit that Ben is probably the best Steeler of all time.
We were blessed to have him for 18 years.

Yeah, but what about the others he's calling out? Sure, Ben wasn't perfect, and early in his career he was an egomaniac, but he definitely grew over his career and as you pointed out, earned his place within Steeler lore. The fact remains that that 2010s team _should_ have won at least 1-2 more titles with the onboard talent, but couldn't get over the hump with the staff in place, and again, as you point out, Porter was a part of that. I have no doubt Ben also knew what we know, and he was very frustrated by the inability to put together playing strategy in playoff games to beat the likes of, for example, the Jags in 2017, when the killer B's were at peak (before AB's unfortunate brain tissue demise). Whatever the case, no reason for JP to stir the pot at this point, and rubbing BR and JH's reps in the dirt is not going to make any difference in my mind on the two main catalysts for any success at all post 2005.

I just listed to these knuckleheads on PFT
iu

They had to go down the path of JP Sr. must be right, because they have heard so many 'insider' stories that Ben is a tool, or was a tool. They are just selling tickets for the cheap seats. Yes, we all agree Ben was a young 'tool' to some degree. I think as he matured, he grew out of that. I love how they get quotes from diva receivers that were cut by the Steelers, that is hilarious.

They should go after JP Sr., now that guy has some ego and old man toolbox antics. Something about glass houses, or the fact JP Sr. isn't relevant enough to worth comments on.

funny thing is this is the majority of pro athletes, they make it sound like Ben is the only athlete that acts like a tool.
Porter is the one that was in handcuffs while a member of The Pittsburgh Steelers, but not a word about that, he probably shouldn't be talking at all.

Excellent post Steelmann, appreciate you.

I wear words on my short sleeve at times. I blow up and then come back with better time in thinking. You have stated the situation very well.

Cam has degreased in the use of his podcast, whereas Ben has climbed in his podcast.

Cam live-streamed on the field at practice. He recruited fellow players to speak on his behalf to justify his salary contract increase this training camp. You know, the contract he had signed less than a year earlier.

As for Ben, that first 1/3 of his career is probably accurate. Forgive and move on. Ben, through his dedicated continual work, changed for the better.

Joey Sr., I’m sure could have been a better team mate as well. Like you stated SIR, he is an old man still looking for the fame and grandstanding his son’s ability.

Tomlin kept him as a “coach” friend way too long. It took extreme self-action and Rooney to step in and say this is enough.

I thought I’d heard he wanted a position on this new coaching staff. McCarthy declined or didn’t ask him. He found his butt-hurt and took to a topic he could claim and controversy over for the attention. MOVE ON Joey.

Could be Cam is hearing the whistle of old age coming to get him.

My guess is he is currently on his last contract with the Steelers.

I think with these podcasts which let's be honest are mostly.......don't forget about me. I think they can offer reasonable critique of the onfield performance. I think they need to leave the lockeroom to the lockeroom. I have no idea what kind of human beings these people really are. Nor do I really need to know or even really care. Really liked watching the fire Peezy brought. Maybe Ben is a bit of a POS. But I dont care. It was thrilling to watch him play all those years and most of them he gave you a punchers chance every game.
