Ben attacked verbally by Joey Porter Sr. Where is Coryea?

I just hope and pray all this mudslinging by Porter doesn’t negatively affect Ben next year when he’s eligible for the HOF.
He deserves to be a first ballot inductee but this bullshit doesn’t help his cause.
Hay Joey, everytime you gaze at that huge ring on your finger, please remember who was a key figure for getting you that ring.

Dorin Dickerson said the biggest myth in pro sports is thinking that everyone likes everyone on a team, he said that's not even close to true.

Makes sense, I don't get along with all of my co-workers, why should they be different? Jerry Rice loathed Deion Sanders when he was on the Niners.

I don’t believe Ben was ever a bad teammate but I do think it’s more to do with his off the field issues.
The motorcycle accident when he was cautioned that he shouldn’t be riding a motorcycle and had a lot to lose. Almost cost him his life.
The accusations from the woman in Vegas about Ben in the hotel room. Mind you, accusations only, never charged.
The Milledgeville, Ga incident in the bar with the girl and her accusations but he was never charged.
I think people tend to mix these things up with Ben being a bad teammate which is not correct.
He had a lot of friends on those teams and that doesn’t translate to being a bad teammate.
He's been called out by lots of people through the years. Dude was not a good person, even the people in his hometown said he was an A-hole. I saw it in person after one practice for SB43 with kids asking for autographs. I've told that story several times on here..in fact I wouldn't even call him an A-hole just from that experience of watching him verbally crush some poor kid, I'd call him a Grade A tool.

Having said that I hope he is being real when he says he lost his way and all the Jesus stuff...blah...blah and he's changed now. But those type people sometimes use religion for reputation repair and social positioning, so I don't know. All I would say is don't confuse the artist with the art. Jim Kelly could also throw a football for lots of yards, and was and is a well documented dik.

To break it down simply:
I love Big Ben the football player
I do not like Ben Roethlisberger the human being.

Ben might have been a troubled person as a young man. Many of us can probably relate because I know what I was like in my early 20's and I wasn't a good person. But as a person Ben has come a long, long way. I hold Big Ben in high regard.....he's a good father and family man. He's supported charities and provided police dogs to law enforcement. He made mistakes but has certainly come along long way and is a good person.

Joey Porter....lets not forget this guy is a loud mouth....yeah he was a Steeler but this guy was not liked throughout the NFL. I'm sure there's not a Bengal fan on this planet that would throw this guy a lifeline if his life depended on it.

He also back in 2008 in the off-season punched Levi Jones (Bengals OT) in the face at a Las Vegas Casino in a completely unprovoked assault! Joey.....I loved you as a Steeler but keep your ******* mouth shut! DUMB ***!

Lost a lot of respect for Joey. Lost even more respect for Cam too. That was a complete set up by Cam to **** on Ben and James. He brought it up by asking what Joey thought about James and Ben talking about Tomlin. Ben never even said anything bad about Tomlin just that it was time for both sides to move on. If Cam or Joey have a problem with that then they need to seek counseling cause they’re obsessed with Tomlin to the point of it being really weird. Never have I seen players gatekeep a coach like this.. very odd.

This is what I don't get when it comes to Ben, probably why I defend him so much. You know how many players I've seen treat fans kind of ******, or skip autographs, etc.? Most of them lol, but Ben is the one that always gets brought up. You know how many stories are out there of athletes skipping on tipping valet or acting a like a grade A tool, most of them, but Ben is the one you always here people say, "well I know a guy whose friend had a bad run in with Ben" Just listened to the guy on the radio basically say he's all for giving Vick a second chance, Vick who was CHARGED and spent time in prison, but the same guy rails Ben every chance he gets for something he was never charged with anything, the Tahoe girl was deemed to mentally whacked out, and the Georgia girl was outed by her sorority sisters saying that was what she was trying to do, wearing a DTF name tag at the bars.
Ray Lewis charged and plead guilty, but you never hear anyone say a word about it, hell he's on ESPN. Jerome Bettis was accused of similar things to Ben in a Latrobe bar parking lot, but no one mentions that. Tomlin is rumored to have done some pretty sleezy crap to his wife, nothing about that.
Why Ben? Everyone seems to be allowed to turn their life around, but not Ben, I don't understand. Never a word about the charities he's contributed to, it's always well in 2005 Ben was an Ahole.

Yep, especially after Porter was there cheesing and hugging Ben at the Hall of Honor ceremony. Cam has been a little b!tch the past 4 or 5 seasons, no surprise there from him. Porter was put in hand-cuffs as a member of the Steelers, he's the last one that should talk about anyone.

So Porter talks down Ben and Harris for not being good guys running thhermouths....DUH Porter is doing the same thing on the podcast he was not on but walked on. Hypocritical sll the way. We all know Ben was not so good but how many years later he runs his mouth. We all know most said Tomlin stayed longer than he should what Ben said . We all know Tomlin loved to throw players under the bus and in doghouse even fired Porter. I don't get now he wants to say something negative. What was the purpose??
Porter was only here for Ben's first three seasons when he was at peak douchebag but he is entitled to his opinions.
However, given his own off-the-field issues involving alcohol, which are apparently still going on, he should maybe refrain from commenting on other people.
In the great "Steelers Way", Porter wasn't really fired, they just didn't renew his contract. If I recall correctly, Porter was suspended for the rest of the 2019 season after his last incident on the South Side and then they just let his contract expire but that was a deal where they just couldn't keep this guy around.

Porter is still Tomlin's bud so he's going to stick up for him. Thing is I don't recall Ben ever saying anything bad about Shades. Deebo yes, but he was lied to by Shades so I'll take Deebo's side on that deal.

More than once.

Ben was actually pretty complimentary of Tomlin, saying he could coach in college and probably win a National Title. Said he would be great on TV or could get another job instantly if he wanted to.

There has been no incidents since his relationship that led to marriage. I have no reason to doubt his religious route he has taken on.

Just because he started one way doesn’t mean it is that way now. When I met him he was nice to me and went out of his way to sign when he was on his way to practice. I have seen many examples of tools at training camp and he wasn’t one of them.

Perhaps you are disliking a shadow of what once was.
