My draft today, based on three assumptions, all of which can change based on FA/trades. The assumptions:
-AR is our starting QB (not happy about that)
-All starters still on team by draft (i.e. Queen, Highsmith, etc. not traded)
-Porter Jr. is extended a long-term contract (4 years or more)
Also, 1st and 2nd Round I give two choices, as this is based on Ioane lasting until 21. It's either OG-WR, or WR-OG
1(21) V. Ioane-OG Day one starter @ LG; if not him, O. Cooper Jr.-WR
2(53) A. Williams-WR WR3, gutsy slot; if not him, G. Dunker-OG
Trade 3(76) and 3(99) for Chicago 2(60) and 7(241). Chicago gets more trade value on this but we need it to help them get over the butt-hurt of Chase Claypool trade.
2(60) J. Trotter-ILB Run-stuffing ILB. Queen and Wilson are the same player in many ways, need a run-stuffer, Trotter in the rotation and becomes a starter next season when Queen leaves via FA
3(85) B. Clark-S Need a ball-hawk true FS type
4(121) T. Keenan III-NT True run-stuffing NT
4(135) M. Bell-OT Massive ROT, gives us flexibility at OT
5(161) E. Prysock-CB Athletic and long boundary CB to develop
6(216) L. Bond-WR Another quick route-running slot WR
7(224) M. Reiger-OLB Developmental OLB from Wisconsin--will be useful in Year 2 when Highsmith or Herbig leave
7(230) R. Nowakowski-TE Can be that TE/FB/HB player with ST chops
7(237) J. Fagnano-QB Prototypical size QB with decent arm and athleticism
7(241) D. Williams-ILB Another run-stuffer from a small school; could make Harrison obsolete
UDFA-- E. O'Neill-OLB, A. Smith-CB, D. Boykin-S, J. Cooper-OT, T. Rimac-OG, J. M'Ba-DL, C. Brevard-NT, K. Dinkins-TE, J. Geers-TE, H. Beatty-WR, D. Connors-RB, D. Pavia-QB, R. Eckley-P
I checked a few consensus big boards and a few other boards to truth this, but there is a lot of pick variability after Round 3 anyway. Some I doubt will be available with these picks, even though consensus says they will be.
Have at it!
