I expressed mine relative to using a R1 pick on a QB.

I know that Tomlin sucked for a decade, that Dookie has been worse longer. That was not the discussion point.

But you're new, and now it's clear what you think and that you seem to care about Jerra when almost nobody else does. Noted.

Could not give two ****s about what Jones is doing in big D. It’s a hypothetical scenario based on the historical evidence that Jones puts a premium on O-line play. Thinking hypothetically is what strategically intelligent and successful people do. I can be new here but I’ve been at this a while.

I'm seeing a lot of tweets about how bad Kevin Colbert did his last 4 years in Pittsburgh and how great Kahn is doing at drafting. This vexes me because it's such an oversimplification of the draft process, which involves scouts, coaches, GMs, even the owners. Heck, even the players -- I have no doubt Ben had input into the draft in his later years. Brady and Manning likely did as well.

I also have no doubt that Colbert was more involved than Kahn is in player eval. Kahn isn't an X's and O's football guy. But I don't believe for a minute that Colbert or any GM operates unilaterally in assembling a roster, which is what these tweets imply, as if everyone else sits around waiting for the roster to be handed down from on high.

In the age of analytics regarding play on the field, I wish this kind of nuance was extended to roster building. On some teams, GMs probably have more control than on others, where coaches and the owner (Dallas) have more. But I really wish this narrative would end.

Yeah, that is true. I guess he didn't have as much pull as I alluded to. Maybe they should have listened -- a few picks after Mason, Baltimore took Orlando Brown and Mark Andrews.

Also passed on Nico Collins and Amon Ra St. Brown to take Kendrick.

That is one possibility, yes.

Next year, Manning will go high based on last name alone--regardless what he does on the field. Moore was a top-5 pick this year, so he either holds steady or falls. Julian Sayin is the third with his accuracy and processing. He lacks some of the tools but more than makes up for it with those traits. If these three continue on their current trajectory, all will be top-5 picks. The rest of the QBs, who knows?

Odds are after this draft **** the bed that the next one will be more attractive. Now how that shakes out is anyone’s guess. Steelers still have to choose the right option and be aggressive obtaining it.

Nope, I was considering Hemingway. I prefer being terse. That being said, the Art of Stupidity would be a catchy title for an organizational history encompassing the last fifteen-ish years.

Ben never had the pull everyone likes to say he did, it's just a way to blame him. Ben loved Bruce and LeBeau and both were forced out, do you think if Ben had a say either would've been gone? No one likes Hailey, he was known before being hired here to being tough to work with, if Ben had a say, he wouldn't want Hailey here.
Yeah of course he was miffed by the Rudolph pick, alot were, we were actually a contending team, why waste a 3rd on QB that's not going to help you now.
