Mock draft

Yeah those lower priced vets worked out so well last season as did that one 3rd /4th rounder.

Not saying they need 6 starters but they definitely are very weak at the position.

There is a reason the free agent WR contracts have ballooned it is a very important position that should be addressed with urgency when deficit.

They need better starters at every position minus cornerback and maybe OLber.

I don't disagree with the last line but they've locked up two guys for years who are making a combined $55M/year. They need better vets than they got last year, can't see more than one rookie getting any PT, especially if Rodgers is back. He loves his vets.

Go big or go home? No, go MASSIVE or get the freak outta here, man! HERE is the way Steeltime sets up the 2027 Steelers:

108.
DEN

Louis Moore S Indiana
trade-icon

230.
PIT

Drew Allar QB Penn State

Future Draft Picks Obtained:
2027 GB 1st
2027 NYG 1st
2027 SF 1st
2027 SF 2nd
2027 DEN 3rd
2027 SF 3rd

So Steelers now have FOUR, count 'em, FOUR 1st round picks in the 2027 draft, three 2nds and two 3rds. They use those picks to give Allar the tools to dominate the NFL for the next 10 seasons.

Pretty impressive. Doesn’t do much to help this season though and you know the FO wouldn’t sign off on a rebuild.

For me I would like the pick aspect of it as it would give them the luxury of trading up in a QB class that should look better than this one.

I want a FS from this draft. So I was AI comparing, here is some of what I saw:

2026 Free Safety RAS Comparison

Dillon ThienemanOregon9.67Elite 4.35s 40-yard dash and 41" vertical.
Bud ClarkTCU9.32High-end explosion; multi-year ball production.
Emmanuel McNeil-WarrenToledo9.13Rare size (6'3") with solid movement for his frame.
Kamari RamseyUSC8.61Strong 40-yard dash (4.47s) but lower vertical/broad jumps.
Genesis SmithArizona~9.2-9.9*Reports cite a 9.9 positional rank with a 42.5" vertical.

Genesis Smith's

final official RAS may vary between sources, but he is consistently noted for "elite athleticism" and elite vertical jump

Out of the list the Steelers have met with in some capacity Smith, Dillon, and Clark.

Which are my top three favorites..
