Pens 25-26 thread

Saw a Flyer blow a tire. Nobody was around him. Amazing Malkin wasn't assessed a penalty. Check that...Skinner got him.

We can't put the series on the kid but he's an example of how short our bench is... Literally and figuratively
I wasn’t putting the series on the kid, but it was just a perfect microcosm of the series..

I’m not giving up on them yet. I think they could win two in Philadelphia.

I know, I've been just as tough on the kid. He's simply out of his league.

We'll see. I hope you are right but I think the pens are done.

This was two games of ****.

Pitiful

Looks like trying too hard and gripping the sticks too tight to me. They couldn't hit the net tonight if it was 10 feet wide. That Philthy goalie was unbeatable too. Also see a lot of bad creeping back in. Karlsson is back to looking like he did the last couple years.

Coasting those last few games and resting guys might not have been the best Idea.

Biggest thing is these guys got too impatient playing against philly’s trap defense. They’re gonna have to get used to playing a boring style of hockey if they want to remain in the post season.

But right now Philly is the better team.

Been a pretty rough spring so far with the pens and my basketball team the hawks. Luckily looks like one of my teams is pulling through as I type

Good morning

Thinking about what has happened to our favorite hockey team that put them in this horrible position, in the first round of the playoffs.

I believe in all goes back to February 24 when we traded Kulack for Girard..
hear me out here…
Prior to that the penguins were playing great hockey, especially defensively and we’re very structured, and looked like a team that was going to make some real noise in the playoffs..

Since that trade the penguins finished the regular season going 12 wins 10 losses and four OTL..

There has been a definite shift in my opinion with the overall play of this team since that trade..

Kulack brought something the team was desperately in need of on the back end, and that was a player that could play sound fundamental playoff style hockey…. Which I might add was desperately needed.

Instead, they brought in a “ defenseman” , that is small, not physical and it’s a bigger turnover machine than Letang on the blue line… and to top it off …pair those two together!!

IMO.. Kulack looked like the veteran blue liner missing piece to the puzzle, to help cement everything together, as we headed into the playoff season.
