So??????????

I think I do, if you bothered to read the last sentence I wrote.

The other thing I will continue to say is losing doesn't guarantee later improvement, or the Bengals and Browns would have multiple championships.
Both their organizations are hot garbage, but they've both won a playoff game this decade, and even the Bengals have a QB that all but like 3 or 4 teams would take in a heart beat.

They are. Look, I said in the one post that I prefer they don't resign Rodgers. But all I'm saying is it's easy for me or us to say that. There are players impacted by these decisions.

Agreed, but Watt signed his extension Ben's final season, so he knew Ben was retiring after the season and Cam signed his big contract with Fields and Wilson at QB.

Yeah, those are valid points.

Rodgers is not holding this team hostage i do not get that argument. Everyone knew all along he was coming last year. We also don't know who they tried to acquire this off season. There were not many options out there. Im also pretty sure they know what is going on with Rodgers right now they just are not telling anyone. I would personally pass on Rodgers just due to mobility alone. If Howard is absolutely terrible we can roll with Mason. I do think Rodgers will be back though

It's not holding them hostage necessarily, it's the fact that he looked bad vs good teams last year, and the team got embarrassed again in the playoffs, so if he's playing his a%% should be here trying to help the team that got embarrassed get better, working with the new guys, the new staff. Them waiting around for a guy that's going to turn 43 to decide when his ego will allow him to return is embarrassing, and just another year of having no clue what their doing at the most important position in sports.

Mahomes, Allen, Darnold, Lamar, Stafford are all at or attended voluntary workouts.

I think people worry way too much about Rogers. His decision is not impacting this draft. Period. End Stop.

The lack of QB talent is what is impacting our decisions. I mean, honestly, do we think letting Rogers determine whether Simpson is worth the #21 pick overall is any way to run scouting department/front office? Of course not.

Do you think HAVING Rogers under contract would PREVENT us from drafting Simpson if everyone in the front office/head coach thinks Simpson is worth the #21 overall pick and a potential long-term QB for this team? Of course not.

So why do you care?

After tonight, depending on the selection or trades, we can ALL decide if those are good or bad. But I just don't see any way Rogers is impacting that at all right now. And I think those that think his little 43-year old slow playing a decision to play or not matter at all to what we are doing is just kind of silly.

The time I am worrying about Rogers is right before training camp starts. Because I DO think the #1 guy on our depth chart has to be getting the reps to implement the new McCarthy system. That is right and proper to expect your starting QB to be apart of that process.

That is the drop dead date where I would tell Rogers to go pack sand. Before that? Eh... our QB room is just a bunch of guys anyhow. And there really hasn't been a good opportunity to cost effectively change that up to this point in the off-season (at least in my opinion).

There are some things I assume will never change.. one of which is that a significant amount of steelers fans will always hate the starting qb and want a different one... even with Ben.. been true since I was a kid abd I dont see it changing anytime soon...

As time goes on money dries up. Rogers might be available if things are bad in week or so but it won't be 30 M.

What do you suggest the Steelers do? Give the job to Howard before he’s thrown his first NFL pass outside of practice? Draft Simpson 1.21? They didn’t acquire a veteran in FA, what are their better options?

Begin the development process of the future with a HC that is known as an offensive guy/QB developer…be that with Howard, Drat pick(s) or any QB traded for that is 27/28 or younger

Rodgers is just the old playbook of pounding square pegs searching for more mediocrity

You ain’t sick of that BS yet?

Other than being competitive and possibly tutoring the future QB.
If Rodgers is brought back as starting quarterback I don't think tutoring the other quarterbacks should be a significant part of his job. If they want a quarterback tutor Rodgers should be on the coaching staff and maybe back up quarterback. As starting quarterback his primary focus should be on working with the rest of the offense to improve their dismal first quarter performances.

Hence he should be here working with those players and the staff to get better after getting their a55 embarrassed worse at home in the playoffs than any other time in their history, you know like EVERY other QB in the NFL is at their voluntary workouts.

So, this is Aaron Rogers we are talking about here.
