How can you not like this coaching staff.......?

They didn’t bring Aaron back for 2-1 or 0-3

I figured they brought him back to be a shaman to Drew and Will. All aboard the vomit comet! I don’t believe a lot of things but I do believe one thing. There’s no problem a copious amount of drugs can’t solve. This whole joke thing is really my domain so…

I am now reading about Shawn Howe. I am appreciating the coaching attention McCarthy is giving the team. More and more he sounds detail oriented. I’m hoping for better results. I also heard Kaboly and Fittapaldo both say that McCarthy is not micromanaging the defense. I’m presuming he’s letting Patrick Graham do his thing and will do what Bill Cowher did-ask for a few things here and there and then just back off and let his defensive coordinator coordinate

Jaylen Ramsey is going to be used way differently than previous coaching staff.

They’re going to let him play to his strengths. I think they may actually use him properly

DK Sports Daily Shot had a segment on just that this morning.

It’s a good listen, and about 1/2 through there is a question of the day that’s pretty good too.!!!

Like your post(s) SIR.

Sounds like they are rebuilding Allar from the very basic. According to Roethlisberger way too basic for this level. Including a three step drop.

I love Ben but I trust MM and his ability to develop a QB over a guy like Ben that never worked with a QB developer.

Ben relied on natural size and athleticism for his game, he was not the cerebral or perfect motion/mechanics guy. As variable as Ben’s skill set could be week to week he could have certainly benefited from a guy like MM taking him all the way back to basics. The difference between “good Ben” and “bad Ben” was extreme. Some weeks Ben would come out and the accuracy just wasn’t even close to being right…you could tell it would be a long day. That’s the coaching Allar is getting that Ben never got, so of course Ben doesn’t quite get what’s going on.

MM is simply trying to eliminate this extreme floor variant for Allar by fixing the basics.

What an indictment on PSU’s coaching staff though.

I think that was point. I dont think it was an indictment of the coaches as much as it is shocking they have to rework a three step drop that he should have mastered in Jr. High.

A building is only as strong as the foundation
I’m glad MM is not allowing for a ****** foundation

This is the type of development/coaching we haven’t seen in almost 2 decades.

Not shocking to me at all that a QB developer is not accepting something less than his standard.

And how is it not an indictment of the coaches at PSU? If it needed to be fixed and they ignored it that is 100 on them imo. Just dumb coaching, much like we’ve witnessed for a long, long time:

Im glad they have a coaching staff that stresses fundamentals. Has a plan. Develops players. The question I believe Ben poses is " is Allar just too damn raw, if you have to reteach this?"

Just my opinion, but some might be looking at it as a complete catastrophic tear-down when it actually may not be.

Allar didn’t suddenly forget how to play football, and to the outsider (someone NOT there at practices) may be misinterpreting to a degree.

I think MM is working on getting his bottom mechanics to match up with his upper mechanics. That was something some pointed to even while Drew was still in college.

MM is developing his QB, that process requires different approaches for different ailments of said player.

Under the previous coaching staff, I never heard of anything / any kind / in depth developement of any player yet alone a QB.

VERY refreshing to hear / see this progress.

Just cracks me up that Ben is the guy posing the question
