If I understand this correctly, Iran is now surrounded by Arab Nations and Israel , who are in agreement and in unison that Iran can never return to their wicked ways without real consequences.

The strait will be open, maritime flowing freely, unhindered by Iran and the IRGC trying to extort fees in those shipping lanes. Seems like a win to me.

In my opinion, Iran was a failure. I also believe Trump got roped into something he didn’t want to do by Israel, which is why he kept waffling and postponing strikes and this that and the other. The whole episode was wasteful and stupid.

Here is a breakdown of the Obama deal vs Trump. Currently the MOU is strictly a deal between USA and Iran. In not sure how we can tell Israel to stop bombing when they didn't sign the deal. I don't even think they agree with the deal as they have been trying to undermine it by constantly attacking Lebanon. In the JCPOA multiple countries agreed and actually signed the deal, but for whatever reason it was not enforced by anyone. The JCPOA would have worked if it was enforced. Trump is acting like we scored a big deal when all we did is revive a deal he called "one of the worst ever. " In fairness full details are not worked out yet, but not sure how anyone can hate the Obama plan and praise the Trump plan at this point.

It appears the fee free passage may only be for the 60 day negotiating period. Based on wording of the MOU reported in several places (the source for the below was Fox) the terms of passage beyond the 60 days are to be negotiated by Oman and Iran (with input from other Gulf states).

"5. Upon the signing of this MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days only from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. The traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start and, considering the needs for removing the technical and military obstacles and demining by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be instated within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialogue with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz."

I'd be more concerned about Hezbollah not abiding by the agreement. I think Item 14 will cover off Israel, assuming the UN Security Council endorses the deal.

"14. The final deal will be endorsed by binding UNSC resolution."

Question is will Russia or China (or even France given they've been descending into weirdness lately) veto the deal?

She is mostly correct, but currently the mou says nothing about drones and bombs other than nuclear. Also the USA is releasing frozen assests which seem to be about 2 billion. Iran is estimated to have 110 to 120 billion on frozen assets total with China holding the most. Iran is basically gong to get 400 billion to play nice for a bit. Us tax payers may not directly fund rebuilding Iran, but we already wasted 29 billion in military spending and the war had cost an estimated 100 billion tax payer dollars between military costs and increased oil prices. I'm also not sure where people are saying we are controlling Chinas oil. There is nothing I see in the mou about the US having anything to do with the straight or iranian oil
