Lots of speculation on McConnell's health. If he is dead or in a coma I don't know why they are covering it. You have guys saying he just talked to him and he is doing well. I don't see how this is possible. He was found unconscious for who knows how long and the report was he had cardiac arrest. The dude is 84 and frail. I have seen first hand what CPR can do to elderly frail people and it's not pretty. At best just bones are broken, but I have also seen blood spurting out of places as well. Putting everything together survival chance is very slim let alone making a functional recovery. If you don't want to comment on his health then just say you don't know or you don't have a comment. Making comments that he is working with his team and what not are going to make guys look like fools

Guy has been missing for three weeks. Probably ought to look at retiring if he isn’t dead. It’s not like he does anything worthwhile in the senate anyway.

He really should retire and enjoy the last 13 minutes of his life. He's earned it.

Under KY law, the governor (a Dem) does not appoint a replacement like most states do. If he dies before Aug 3 they will have to hold a special election, which the RINOs and Dems do not want. If he dies after Aug 3 then it goes to the regular Nov election, for which Turtle is not running for reelection anyway.

That’s all well and good, but the guy isn’t doing his job and that vote for any legislation isn’t being used. Not sure what the game is, but I remember all the outrage when Secretary Austin disappeared for three days. McConnell has been missing for three weeks, and nobody seems to know what his actual condition is. Also read that his wife may have fled back to China. And no one in the government is saying anything. Everybody should be pissed about this situation.

You'd rather have a special election to replace him for a couple weeks -- probably held in late Sept/October -- while there is an election to replace already scheduled for the first Tuesday in November?

KY law says you need 56 days minimum, hence Burgundy's Aug 3 date above, so you would need a second election, ahead of the actual election, to fill the spot for about 3 weeks in October.

Its a crappy situation, but how does this help anyone?

I think he will have an unexpected medical setback which will lead to his passing at a convenient time

It's just sick that we live in a political reality where nothing and no one is trustworthy.

It actually pisses me off.

This is the problem. Not worried about what’s wrong with him or where he’s been. Not worried about whether he’s dead or alive. Not worried about why no one can or will answer for any of it. Not worried about anything but a special election that the right has no chance of losing. So you have two elections. Who cares? What does it hurt? At least the people of Kentucky are represented by someone who is alive and not incapacitated.

I swear, far too many people in this country are far too willing to eat a **** sandwich based solely on who is serving it.
