TODAY…………….it begins

I think we're all just looking forward to a press conference where we walk away with something.

MM does a pretty good job on his interviews.

You’re right though, a different press conference comes with the change of coach.

Anyone else shocked Broderick Jones is participating? Happy for the kid. And he's played a lot of NFL snaps. Good for depth and competition.

I don’t think he should be ruled out just yet, as a starter.

He did have a pretty good year at RT and maybe he has a little more motivation this year.

He came into Mike league assuming to much, now he knows he has to work hard or he is out.

I truly hope that in jury is behind him.

What’s his chance of actually starting, I’d say 60-40 excluding injury.

Believe me, I’d be more than happy with a top 5 defense.

I currently don’t see it because I’m taking into account the time needed to gel and be able to handle the huge change of the new scheme. I think they were ranked 25or 26th last season so I felt maybe stepping up 10 spots would be formative.

As for their ranking being in-line with the pay, that has been a good question for 5 yrs now…………..

This new “change-scheme” will be a thing ahead of what we have seen the last decade=+, and to us it will look very formidable. To the rest of the NFL it will be work as normal, stuff they have seen from the other 31 teams on a weekly basis.

I have very high optimistic expectations and would love a top ranked defense with some of that NASTINESS that was once associated to the Pittsburgh Steelers of the past.!!!

I don’t think it will take or LBs long to adjust to rushing from different angles/sets and not being asked to run with WRs

Corners cover, period…if they can tackle that’s a huge plus. Dean is an upgrade at 2 and we have some very good depth behind 2 solid boundaries

The LB and CB positions should be elite.

The safety depth is a touch scary, but ya can’t pay 4 LBs well and afford safety depth I guess

The DL is the biggest question to me

Cam, what will we get?

Benton, does he give us a contract year performance?

Harmon, what does he look like as a sophomore?

The young guys…does anyone emerge, does Black cast an oak tree sized shadow and step up?

Is Seabass that run stuffer we needed?

If this unit is above average this D should push for some top 5 rankings.

What do ya think DIC, will this DL be anything noteworthy?

Best five play. No matter what
If Jones is physically fit post injury, then we a nice problem: 3 1st round Ts, a surprising T Cook and an inspiring high draft pick to fill out the 3 spots not manned by Frazier and McCormick.

Can one of those 4 T's start at G?

Only a couple spots left for someone else who can snap and fill in at G.

That DL definitely has some question marks along the way.

I think one of the most over looked is Cam. Many are taking him for granted as being able to play incredibly well. With the coaching scheme being about continual rotation, that will allow the Cam to be able to play the result season. Should something happen that he has to take the same amount of historic snaps,…….. I think he fails to play the whole season (don’t want that to happen at all).

I think heads are going to rattle as to being turned so fast towards Harmmon that Bayer Aspirin is going to sell out for the incurring headaches. Harmmon will benefit greatly from the rotation as well, should get a full season out of him.

Benton and Black have about equal concern on where they end up. Black has to step up from last year, act like he’s been there and play like he knows his assignment. Benton will be wasted if used in the NT position (not out of a reality), but if used more as a DT, he should shine with the rotation as well.

In the past, players pulled themselves out when they needed a blow, this year is going to be different and should keep health and responses much better. TJ will benefit greatly from the rotation as well.

Time is our friend and should be the tell tale once they get on the field of play.

Something to consider....he's still a first round pick. He's big. He's a tackle. He's been a starter. He still has potential. If they release him no comp pick. They may keep him just to get a comp pick

We feel really good about the prospects of this group. We gotta write that story, but we’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big things. And when I say big things, I’m talking about historic things.

On a serious note Graham has glued into the Dline in camp. He historically (pun intended) has been known from building the Dline from the line outward with teaching techniques relentlessly. Rotating heavily while creating pressure without excessive blitzing.

So I have seen in camp that Benton has already been moved to DE we will see if it ends up the permanent move but not only do I expect the unit to show improvement but I think they will rotate DEs keeping Heyward fresher. Hopefully Peko can get the NTs emulating a little teapot …short and stout.

😆

I think the pup list comes into play, that could buy him enough time to re-gain the lost weight from his injury.

Worse case scenario he will make great depth at either side T.

This defense will be unlike any we have seen in years…
This defense may be unlike anything we have ever seen before….

Dare I say, this defense may be historic???

Too soon?

Expecting big things from the squad this year, OBVIOUSLY, championship or bust as otherwise the return of the Rodgers made zero sense.

I’m a dumazz tho, so of course I see a hoisting of the Lombardi again this year in Sevenburgh
Was watching an interview of Graham and I liked what he said a out what a players coach means to him

He said to him a players coach is someone who is constantly looking for ways to make his players more successful

Didn't talk about inspiration, motivation or relatability but finding ways to put them in more successful situations

That's definitely a more cerebral twist and one I appreciate

How can I help you as opposed to do what I ask of you might be the difference between him and Tomlin

I don't think what we heard on the audio was Freiermuth speaking. But he did pluck a kid out of the melee.

Edit: Or maybe it was Pat, and that was a different player picking the kid up. Not really sure.

Anyway, I never understood what drives 30- or 40- or 50-somethings to act stupidly to get an autograph. Let the kids meet their heroes.

I think you’re right after watching the video again. It looks like Pat pulled the kid out and the other player called them retards. Regardless, whoever called them retards is spot on.

The guy with the helmet is on the other side of the borders with the fans. No one is giving him attention. Seems to me it's just some fan with a helmet on. Would be unlike a player to be calling fans retards......not impossible but seems like a fan to me

Ive decided however MM uses QBs in pre-season Im gonna trust him. I think it will be telling of drafting next year, but he is working with the young qbs every day. Ill trust his eye.

Watching day 4 training camp, Drew Allar looked better than Will Howard.

Tighter “rope”, smaller pocket targets, the kind that needed Voltaire to hit.

I know the film was a little “rough” and not slow motion on my part, but my eye test had it look that way.

MM knows what he is doing.!!!

Arm talent vs mechanics and football IQ.

I’m not a QB guru, but drew seemed well versed in his mechanics as well.

Later there was a small interview With Howard and he kind of snipped at the reporter, some took it as he knew that Drew won that day.

Not to draw any conclusions by no means, but I don’t think Allar is as far off as many here seem to think.

I think this short time with MM has benefitted him dearly.
