1st day training camp and we have a new person there, one not seen in what seems like a Centry.

Welcome Mike, only though a different than usual Mike appears.

DK sports has a pretty good take and worth the listen

I’d like to hear what everyone thinks & how this camp will emerge along the way.

Battles have winners and losers, favorites and foes……………

Again, hats off to the new coach, a true Pittsburgh Boy who realized his dream.

Can't say much about defense. Though there is talent there. Not sure about coordinator there. But they gave up a lot of yards and some big points last few years.
But I am absolutely certain the level of detail on offense will be sonething we have not seen in .......many of our lifetimes to be frank. And it will translate to points and an intersting season. I dont knlw about SB. But at least a team that looks capable of a playoff run.

I'm excited about the new season and new coaching. I boldly predict other teams won't be calling out the plays before the snap. McCarthy is smarter than Tomlin in that area. The defense will look different because players won't be coddled like they were under Tomlin (TJ). Some players will be used properly.

I'm thinking (hoping) the D is going to have a lot of wrinkles this year that opposing O's will take some time to figure out. We have a lot of good chess pieces that I think will be moved around the field to take advantage of and create mismatches. It will take until the regular season to see a lot of this play out but I am hopeful this D starts looking more like the highest-paid D in the league.

I'm also very curious to see how high-powered this O can be. The WR's, TE's, and RB's should have any QB and OC salivating. If the QB, Rodgers or other, can settle in and make plays, this will be fun.

WE RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I predict a lot of 24 point plus games legitimately scored on offense.
Yes I also see a risk it for the biscuit defense. They will give up some house calls maybe they didn't before but Im betting they will also be far less predictable.
Most of success will come down to health.

Probably the single biggest factor in all this is that the scheme will be different on both sides of the ball.

Opposing defenses calling out plays, opposing offenses having the “D” figured out, that all changes for the better in my eyes.

I also look at the respective coordinators, Although MM will be calling plays, the OC is still better than last year’s OC. You can say that equally to the DC even with the Tomlin included in the Bi-DC role.

I am patient and realize we need to see what translates to the field of play. Equally as important, we need to give time for the new scheme(s) to be used and practiced / broken in so to speak……

EXCITED for sure.!!!

No live tackling is a head scratcher to me. How can you get better if you don't practice? So, our best D players will end up bypassing the preseason games and not have to tackle anyone until the first game? How can there not be a ton of missed tackles in the first few games of the season?

This defense will be unlike any we have seen in years…
This defense may be unlike anything we have ever seen before….

Dare I say, this defense may be historic???

Too soon?

Expecting big things from the squad this year, OBVIOUSLY, championship or bust as otherwise the return of the Rodgers made zero sense.

I’m a dumazz tho, so of course I see a hoisting of the Lombardi again this year in Sevenburgh

Is there no live tackling the entire camp? Or just early in camp?
I think the whole camp. The way I read it anyway.

Idk. One thing that aggravated me over the years was the big talk about how physical the Steeler camps were, and they didn't tackle any better than anyone else...and sometimes worse.

1-16 ain't proficient coaching...
I knew someone would respond with this. "no losing seasons" isn't proficient coaching either. Only winning SBs is, really. Not a change Shades would do it again. So, we move on to something different. I'm good with the change, no matter the outcome. It will be preferable to me.

Change has to start somewhere, even if from rock bottom.

However, I don’t see the new change becoming rock-bottom.

I see a 9-8 to 13-4 season coming along this year.

I also don’t see Aaa-Ron playing the full season, wether age related type play or injury, he will sit some.

One more thing, I see our offense ranked 12th in the league when all is said and done.

Bonus vision— TJ double digits in sacks, Cam 6 or less, defense finishes ranked 17 to 14 overall.
